    Nissan Leaf Charging Cable

Delivered in 3-11 working days  Can't find what you're looking for? Contact us for availability.

An AC charging cable for the Nissan Leaf. Cars from 2018 on use a Type 2 inlet and take the Type 2 to Type 2 cable, covering the 40 kWh Leaf and 62 kWh Leaf e+ built to 2024 and the 75 kWh Leaf from 2026; the 2011 to 2017 first generation uses a Type 1 inlet and takes the Type 1 to Type 2 cable. A Type 2 to 3-Pin cable is stocked as a backup lead. The 2026 Leaf accepts up to 11kW on three phase and 7.4kW on single phase, while the 40 kWh and 62 kWh cars accept 6.6kW single phase, or 3.6kW on Visia and Acenta cars without the optional charger. A UK home supply is single phase, so a car draws at most 7.4kW at home, and the 32A single phase cable delivers that in full. Lengths are 5, 10, 15 and 20 metres. Built to IEC 62196-2 and CE certified, IP55 sealed, rated from -30C to +50C, or +60C for the 3-pin. Two year manufacturer's warranty and free next working day UK delivery.

Range Rover Evoque PHEV Charging Cable

Delivered in 3-11 working days  Can't find what you're looking for? Contact us for availability.

A charging cable for the plug-in hybrid Range Rover Evoque, covering the P300e built from 2020 to 2024 and the P270e from 2025, both with 12.17 kWh usable from a 15 kWh pack. Both charge through a Type 2 inlet, so the lead is a Type 2 to Type 2. The maximum AC rate is 7 kW on each of them, single phase. A UK home supply is single phase, so the car draws at most 7.4 kW there, the Evoque accepts 7 kW of it, and the 32A single phase cable delivers that in full for a charge of about 2 hours from empty. The P160 petrol and D165 and D200 diesel Evoque are mild hybrids with no charging socket. Lengths are 5 and 10 metres, with 15 and 20 metres in the 32A single phase cable. Built to IEC 62196-2 and CE certified, IP55 sealed, rated from -30C to +50C, or +60C for the 3-pin. Two year manufacturer's warranty and free next working day UK delivery.

Which cable a plug-in GLE needs depends on which one is sitting on your driveway. Three plug-in versions have been sold here and they do not charge at the same speed, so the badge on the tailgate decides the purchase. The GLE 500 e 4MATIC, built from 2015 to 2018, carries an 8.7 kWh battery and charges through a Type 2 socket at about 3.7 kW. Mercedes UK has never confirmed that figure, so treat it as approximate. A 16A Type 2 to Type 2 cable meets that limit and costs less than the 32A version, which is why we list it as the best fit for this car.The GLE 350 de 4MATIC, sold as an SUV and a Coupe from 2020 to 2023, is a very different proposition. It is a diesel plug-in hybrid with a 31.2 kWh battery, larger than the pack in some small electric cars, and it accepts 7.4 kW on AC. Here the 32A cable earns its price, because 16A would roughly double every charge. The GLE 400 e 4MATIC, on sale from 2023 onwards, uses the same 31.2 kWh battery. Mercedes UK has not published its maximum AC charge speed, so we do not quote one. Buying the 32A cable means the cable will never be the part holding you back.UK homes run on a single phase supply, so 7.4 kW is the ceiling at home no matter which cable is plugged in. The 22 kW three phase cable only reaches 22 kW at a three phase commercial charge point, and no plug-in GLE is listed at that speed. Your car draws the lowest of three limits: the car, the supply and the cable. If your GLE is a 300 d, 350 d, 400 d, 450, 450 d, AMG 53 or AMG 63, it has no charging port and needs no cable at all.Type 2 to Type 2 cables are IP55 rated, Type 2 to 3 Pin cables are IP67, both come in 5m and 10m lengths, and every order includes a 2 year manufacturer's warranty and free next working day UK delivery.Mercedes GLE Charging TimesGLE 500 e 4MATIC, 2015 to 2018, 8.7 kWh Cable Type Max Charge Rate Empty to Full Verdict Type 2 to 3 Pin, 5m or 10m 2.3 kW About 4h15m Backup only Type 2 to Type 2 16A, 5m or 10m 3.7 kW About 2h45m Best fit Type 2 to Type 2 32A, 5m or 10m 3.7 kW, limited by the car About 2h45m No quicker than 16A Type 2 to Type 2 32A three phase, 5m or 10m 3.7 kW, limited by the car About 2h45m Not needed GLE 350 de 4MATIC, 2020 to 2023, 31.2 kWh Cable Type Max Charge Rate Empty to Full Verdict Type 2 to 3 Pin, 5m or 10m 2.3 kW 15h15m Emergency use Type 2 to Type 2 16A, 5m or 10m 3.7 kW 9h30m Half speed Type 2 to Type 2 32A, 5m or 10m 7.4 kW 4h45m Best fit Type 2 to Type 2 32A three phase, 5m or 10m 7.4 kW on a UK home supply 4h45m No gain at home GLE 400 e 4MATIC, 2023 onwards, 31.2 kWh Cable Type Max Charge Rate Empty to Full Verdict Type 2 to 3 Pin, 5m or 10m 2.3 kW Not quoted Backup only Type 2 to Type 2 16A, 5m or 10m 3.7 kW Not quoted Slower than the 32A Type 2 to Type 2 32A, 5m or 10m Up to 7.4 kW Not quoted Best fit Type 2 to Type 2 32A three phase, 5m or 10m Up to 7.4 kW on a UK home supply Not quoted Not needed Mercedes UK has not confirmed a maximum AC charge speed for the GLE 400 e, so we do not publish charge times for it.Mercedes GLE Charging Cable FAQsWhich charging cable does a Mercedes GLE500e need? The GLE 500 e 4MATIC of 2015 to 2018 has an 8.7 kWh battery and takes about 3.7 kW, so a 16A Type 2 to Type 2 cable is the sensible buy and fills it in roughly 2h45m. A 32A cable fits the same socket but the car will not draw any more from it.Is the 32A cable worth it on a GLE 350 de?Yes. The GLE 350 de holds 31.2 kWh and accepts 7.4 kW, so a 32A cable finishes a full charge in about 4h45m. A 16A cable is capped at 3.7 kW and stretches the same charge to roughly 9h30m. On a battery that size the difference is worth the extra outlay. How long does a GLE 350 de take to charge? From empty on a 7.4 kW home charge point with a 32A cable, allow about 4h45m for the 31.2 kWh battery. Drop to a 16A cable and that becomes roughly 9h30m. A three pin lead pulls only 2.3 kW, which means a little over 15 hours, so keep it for emergencies.Do all Mercedes GLE models plug in?No. Only the GLE 500 e, the GLE 350 de and the GLE 400 e have a charging socket. The GLE 300 d, 350 d, 400 d, 450 and 450 d, plus the AMG GLE 53 and AMG GLE 63, have no charging port in any model year, so no cable will connect to them. Will a three phase cable charge my GLE faster? Not at home. British houses have a single phase supply, so 7.4 kW is the most any home charge point can deliver, and the 22 kW figure on a three phase cable is only reachable at a three phase commercial unit. No plug-in GLE is listed above 7.4 kW, so the standard 32A cable is enough.Should I buy a 5m or 10m GLE cable?Measure from your charge point to where the GLE usually sits. A 5m cable suits a wall box beside the parking space. The GLE is a long car, so if you park nose in on a wide drive, reverse onto the road, or share a post with a neighbour, the 10m cable saves repeated shuffling.

For home charging an EQV 300, buy the 32A Type 2 to Type 2 cable. It carries 7.4 kW, which is everything a British domestic charge point can give, and this is a van sized battery that needs all of it.Mercedes sold the EQV 300 here between 2020 and 2024, in Long and Extra-Long wheelbase, and it was the only EQV offered in the UK. Under the floor is a 100 kWh gross pack with 90 kWh usable. That is a great deal of energy to move through a cable, so the choice matters more here than on a small hatchback. On a 7.4 kW home supply with the 32A cable, expect around thirteen and three quarter hours from empty. Step down to a 16A cable at 3.7 kW and the same charge runs to roughly twenty seven and a half hours, which is more than a full day. The 16A cable is not a sensible saving on this vehicle. The EQV 300 will accept 11 kW on AC, but that is a three phase number and it is worth being clear about what it means. Homes in Britain are supplied with a single phase, so no domestic wall box can exceed 7.4 kW whichever cable you own. The 11 kW figure appears only at a three phase charge point, and reaching it needs the three phase cable as well as the three phase supply. Buy that version if your depot, workplace or yard has a three phase AC unit, since it brings a full charge down to about nine and a quarter hours. If you charge on a driveway, it will behave exactly like the 32A single phase cable and cost you more.Whatever you use, the speed is decided by the lowest of three limits: the car, the supply and the cable.A Type 2 to 3 Pin lead is not realistic as a main method on a 90 kWh battery, since 2.3 kW would take the best part of two days. Keep one for occasional top ups away from home. The petrol and diesel Vito and V-Class have no charging port in any year, and the eVito is the panel van version of this vehicle.Type 2 to Type 2 cables are IP55 rated, Type 2 to 3 Pin cables are IP67, both come in 5m and 10m lengths, and every order includes a 2 year manufacturer's warranty and free next working day UK delivery.Mercedes EQV 300 Charging TimesEQV 300 Long and Extra-Long, 2020 to 2024, 90 kWh usable Cable Type Max Charge Rate Empty to Full Verdict Type 2 to 3 Pin, 5m or 10m 2.3 kW 44h15m Occasional top ups only Type 2 to Type 2 16A, 5m or 10m 3.7 kW 27h30m Over a day, avoid Type 2 to Type 2 32A, 5m or 10m 7.4 kW at home 13h45m Best fit for home Type 2 to Type 2 32A three phase, 5m or 10m 11 kW, three phase supply only 9h15m Only with three phase access On a single phase home supply the three phase cable delivers the same 7.4 kW as the standard 32A cable, and therefore the same 13h45m.Mercedes EQV 300 Charging Cable FAQsWhich cable does a Mercedes EQV 300 need?A 32A Type 2 to Type 2 cable for home use. The EQV 300 has 90 kWh usable and a Type 2 inlet, and 32A carries the full 7.4 kW a British house can supply, giving a complete charge in about 13h45m. The 16A cable halves that rate and is not worth considering on a pack this size.Is the 22 kW three phase cable worth it?Only if you have three phase access. The EQV 300 tops out at 11 kW on AC, and at a three phase charge point that cuts a full charge to roughly 9h15m instead of 13h45m. Plugged into an ordinary single phase home wall box, the same cable delivers 7.4 kW, exactly like the cheaper 32A version. How long does an EQV 300 take to charge? From empty at home on 7.4 kW, around 13h45m for the 90 kWh usable battery. On a 16A cable at 3.7 kW it climbs to about 27h30m. With a three phase supply and cable the car draws 11 kW and finishes in roughly 9h15m. A three pin lead would take nearly two days. Why can I not get 11 kW at home?Because British houses have a single phase electricity supply and 11 kW requires three phases. A home charge point is therefore capped at 7.4 kW no matter what the EQV 300 is capable of or which cable is fitted. Three phase supplies are normally found at commercial premises rather than domestic addresses.Does the Mercedes V-Class plug in?No. Petrol and diesel Vito and V-Class models have no charging port in any model year, so no cable will connect to them. The EQV 300 is the electric version of that vehicle for passenger use, and the eVito is the equivalent panel van. Both of those take a Type 2 cable. Is 5m long enough for a Mercedes EQV?Often not. The EQV is a long wheelbase vehicle and many owners park it nose out or across a yard rather than tight against a wall box. Ten metres removes the risk of falling short, particularly on the Extra-Long version. The cable length has no effect on the 7.4 kW charge rate.

    Peugeot e-Rifter Charging Cable

Delivered in 3-11 working days  Can't find what you're looking for? Contact us for availability.

Nearly every Peugeot e-Rifter on UK roads wants the same thing: a 32A Type 2 to Type 2 cable. The car takes 7.4 kW AC as standard, and 7.4 kW is also the ceiling of a single phase British home supply, so a 32A cable matches the car exactly and leaves nothing unused. The e-Rifter is the passenger version of the e-Partner van and carries identical charging hardware. Peugeot lists an 11 kW three phase on-board charger as an option, but 11 kW is a three phase number. It is only reached at a three phase supply, using our 32A three phase cable. Plug an 11 kW car into a normal home wallbox and it will draw 7.4 kW, the same as everything else. Battery size is where owners get caught out. Peugeot improved the pack in February 2024, lifting usable capacity from 46.3 kWh to 50 kWh and adding a heat pump, yet kept the 50 kWh badge on both cars. The badge therefore tells you nothing. Quoted range is the giveaway: roughly 174 miles for the earlier car, roughly 199 miles for the February 2024 facelift. The connector, the charge rate and the cable are unchanged. Only the time on the clock moves. The seven seat e-Rifter Long shares its battery and on-board charger with the standard car built in the same year, so treat it exactly the same way. On length, 5m is enough when the wallbox sits on the wall the car parks beside and the charge port is reached in one straight run. Go to 10m if you park on the street, share a driveway, or reverse in some days and drive in on others. The conductors are identical, so reach costs you no speed. A Type 2 to 3 pin cable is worth keeping for a night away from home, but it delivers 2.3 kW and takes the better part of a day for a full charge. Treat it as a backup rather than your main method. Petrol PureTech and diesel BlueHDi Rifters built from 2018 have no charging port at all and need no cable. Every cable ships with a 2 year manufacturer's warranty and free next working day UK delivery. Type 2 to Type 2 cables are IP55 rated, Type 2 to 3 pin cables are IP67. A 32A Type 2 to Type 2 cable. The e-Rifter charges at 7.4 kW AC as standard and a 32A single phase cable delivers exactly that, so nothing is left on the table. The 16A version is capped at 3.7 kW and roughly doubles every charge. Both 5m and 10m carry the same rating. Is the 11 kW three phase cable worth buying? Only if you have a three phase supply and the optional on-board charger. A British home is single phase and stops at 7.4 kW, so the three phase cable would charge no faster there. Where three phase is available, a 50 kWh facelift goes from empty to full in about 5 hours 15 minutes instead of 7 hours 45. How long does a full charge take at home? On a 7.4 kW wallbox with the 32A cable, allow about 7 hours for the 46.3 kWh car built before 2024, and about 7 hours 45 minutes for the 50 kWh facelift. Either fits inside an overnight cheap rate window. The 16A cable stretches those figures to roughly 14 hours 15 and 15 hours 15. How do I tell the 2024 facelift from the earlier car? Not by the badge, because both say 50 kWh. The version sold from late 2021 to early 2024 holds 46.3 kWh usable and is quoted at about 174 miles. The February 2024 facelift holds 50 kWh usable, gained a heat pump, and is quoted at about 199 miles. Both use the same Type 2 cable. Can I charge an e-Rifter from a 3 pin socket? Yes, though it is slow. A 3 pin cable delivers 2.3 kW, which works out at roughly 22 hours 45 minutes for the earlier battery and about 24 hours 30 minutes for the facelift. It earns its place for a weekend at a relative's house rather than daily use, and it is IP67 rated. Should I buy a 5m or a 10m cable? Pick 5m when the wallbox is fixed to the wall the e-Rifter parks against and the port is a short straight reach away. Pick 10m for shared driveways, on-street bays, or if the car sometimes faces the other way. The conductors are the same in both, so extra length costs no charging speed.

Buy the Type 2 to Type 2 32A cable. Every e-SpaceTourer leaves the factory with a 7.4 kW onboard charger, and 32A single phase is the rating that carries all of it at a UK home. The question worth settling before you order is not the cable, it is which battery sits under your van, because that decides how long it stays plugged in. Citroen sold the 50 kWh car on its own from late 2020, in standard and XL lengths, with 46.3 kWh usable. The 75 kWh version arrived with the March 2024 facelift and holds 68 kWh usable. Both share the same Type 2 inlet and the same cable. On a 7.4 kW wallbox the 50 kWh car fills from empty in about seven hours, while the 75 kWh car needs closer to ten and a half. That gap is the reason to plug in most nights rather than twice a week. An 11 kW three phase onboard charger was offered as an option, listed on the XL and on facelift cars. We could not confirm from our data whether it was available on the earliest 50 kWh models. Either way it changes nothing at home, because British houses are single phase and an 11 kW van still draws 7.4 kW from a domestic wallbox. At a three phase point, the option brings the 50 kWh car down to roughly four and three quarter hours and the 75 kWh car to about seven, and only that situation justifies buying the three phase lead. The 16A cable at 3.7 kW is a weak match for a battery this size, taking over fourteen hours on the 50 kWh and nearly twenty one on the 75 kWh. A three pin lead at 2.3 kW is slower again and belongs in the boot as emergency kit, not as a charging plan. One more check: the diesel SpaceTourer BlueHDi has no charging port, so it needs no cable at all. For length, an e-SpaceTourer is a long vehicle and rarely parks tidily. Take 5m only if the wallbox is level with the flap, and 10m if you reverse in, park across a bay, or share a charger with a second car. Every cable is built to IEC 62196, CE certified, with Type 2 to Type 2 rated IP55 and Type 2 to 3 Pin rated IP67. All come with a 2 year manufacturer's warranty and free next working day UK delivery. A Type 2 to Type 2 cable at 32A. Every e-SpaceTourer has a 7.4 kW onboard charger as standard, and 32A single phase carries exactly that at a domestic wallbox. The same cable serves the 50 kWh and 75 kWh batteries, so you only need to pick a length once you have decided the rating. How long does a 50 kWh e-SpaceTourer take? Around 7 hours from empty on a 7.4 kW wallbox with a 32A cable, working from 46.3 kWh usable. A 16A cable at 3.7 kW pushes that to about 14 hours 15 minutes, and a three pin socket at 2.3 kW to nearly 23 hours, which is longer than most drives are free. How much longer does the 75 kWh version take? Roughly three and a half hours longer. The facelift 75 kWh car carries 68 kWh usable and fills in about 10 hours 30 minutes on 7.4 kW, against 7 hours for the 50 kWh. Both cars accept the same 7.4 kW, so the extra time comes purely from the larger battery. Is the 11 kW three phase option useful at home? No. UK homes run on a single phase supply, so an e-SpaceTourer fitted with the 11 kW charger still takes 7.4 kW on your driveway and finishes no sooner than a car without it. The option only pays back at a genuine three phase charge point, where the 50 kWh car drops to about 4 hours 45 minutes. Does the diesel SpaceTourer take a charging cable? No. The SpaceTourer BlueHDi, built from 2016, has no traction battery and no charging port, so nothing on this page fits it. Only the e-SpaceTourer plugs in, and the e prefix on the model badge is the quickest way to tell the two versions apart on a forecourt. Is 5m or 10m better for an e-SpaceTourer? Ten metres suits most owners, because the van is long and often parks nose in with the inlet away from the wall. Five metres is fine when the wallbox sits directly beside the charging flap and the vehicle always parks the same way round. Both lengths deliver the full 7.4 kW.

The xDrive40e is the first plug-in hybrid X5, built from 2015 to 2018 on the F15 body. It has a 9.2 kWh battery and a Type 2 socket, and its onboard charger is rated 3.7 kW. That single number decides the purchase: a 16A Type 2 to Type 2 cable is all this car can use. At 3.7 kW the pack goes from empty to full in about 2 hours 45 minutes. Fit a 32A cable and the figure does not move, because the limit is inside the car. Fit the 32A three phase cable and it still does not move. Spending more buys nothing here, unless you want the cable to outlive the X5 and serve a faster car later. A Type 2 to 3 Pin cable is a sensible second purchase for this particular model. Because the battery is only 9.2 kWh, a 2.3 kW trickle still finishes in around 4 hours 30 minutes, so an ordinary household socket at a hotel or a relative's house is genuinely usable rather than a last resort. That is not the case on a full electric car. Take care not to confuse the xDrive40e with the plug-in X5s that followed it. The xDrive45e of 2019 to 2023 has a much larger 24 kWh battery but the same 3.7 kW charger, so it needs the same 16A cable and simply takes longer. The xDrive50e from 2023 moved to a 7.4 kW charger with 25.7 kWh usable, and that one does want the 32A cable. Trim level makes no difference to any of them. A 16A Type 2 to Type 2 cable. The F15 xDrive40e has a 3.7 kW onboard charger and a 9.2 kWh battery, so 16A supplies everything the car can accept and returns a full charge in about 2 hours 45 minutes. Larger cables cost more and change nothing at all. Would a 32A cable speed up my xDrive40e? No. The 3.7 kW ceiling is built into the car, so a 32A cable and even a 32A three phase cable both give the same 2 hours 45 minutes. The only argument for buying one is future proofing, if you expect to replace the X5 with a car that charges faster. Is the xDrive40e different from the xDrive45e and xDrive50e? Yes, although the 45e shares its cable. The 2015 to 2018 xDrive40e holds 9.2 kWh and the 2019 to 2023 xDrive45e holds 24 kWh, but both charge at 3.7 kW on 16A. The xDrive50e from 2023 stepped up to 25.7 kWh usable and 7.4 kW, so it wants a 32A cable. Is a 3 pin cable practical on this car? More so than on most. At 2.3 kW a 9.2 kWh battery still fills in roughly 4 hours 30 minutes, so an ordinary domestic socket overnight is a workable option when you are away from a charge point. Keep it as a backup rather than your everyday method at home. How can I tell whether my X5 plugs in? Only the e badged hybrids do. The xDrive30d, xDrive40d, xDrive40i, M60i xDrive and X5 M have no charging socket and no traction battery to fill. If your X5 is a diesel or a straight petrol, none of the cables on this page will connect to it. Is 5m or 10m better for the xDrive40e? 5m is enough for a wallbox fitted beside the parking space on a private drive. Go for 10m if you park kerbside, share a workplace post, or need to reach across the car. Since charges are short on this model, the shorter cable is easier to coil and store.

Only one Leon takes a charging cable, and the year it was built decides how much cable you need. The plug-in is the e-HYBRID. Nothing else in the range has a socket. The eTSI is a 48 volt mild hybrid that refills itself from the engine, and TSI petrol and TDI diesel cars have no charging port at all. If the tailgate does not read e-HYBRID, no cable on this page will fit your car.Leon e-HYBRID models built from 2020 to 2024 use the 1.4 TSI 204PS drivetrain, a 12.8 kWh pack holding around 10.6 kWh usable, and a 3.6 kW onboard charger. That charger is slow by any measure, which means a 16A Type 2 to Type 2 cable is everything the car is able to draw. A 32A lead plugs into the same socket and works perfectly, but the car simply ignores the extra headroom. Save the difference unless a quicker car is joining the household. These early cars have no rapid charging either, so AC is your only option. The 2024 facelift is a different machine. The 1.5 TSI e-HYBRID holds 19.7 kWh usable from a 25.8 kWh pack and charges at 11 kW, which is unusual on a plug-in hybrid of any make. It also gained CCS rapid charging at 50 kW. British homes are wired single phase, so that 11 kW charger draws 7.4 kW on a domestic wallbox, and the 32A Type 2 to Type 2 cable is the one to buy. The full 11 kW only appears at a three phase charge point, where the 32A three phase lead is what unlocks it.Length comes down to where the car sits. A 5m cable suits a wallbox within a car length of the charging flap. 10m gives you slack for kerbside parking, a garage where the unit is behind you, or a post shared across two bays. Our Type 2 to Type 2 leads are IP55 rated and the Type 2 to 3 Pin lead is IP67. That is the sole Leon with a Type 2 socket. Petrol TSI, diesel TDI and the 48 volt eTSI all lack a charging port, so no cable will connect to them. Check the badge on the tailgate before ordering, since the eTSI is regularly mistaken for a plug-in.Which cable suits a 2020 to 2024 e-HYBRID?The 16A Type 2 to Type 2 lead. That generation has a 3.6 kW onboard charger, so it fills its 10.6 kWh usable battery in about 3 hours 33 minutes and cannot go faster whatever you plug in. A 32A cable is safe and fits the same socket, but it buys you no extra speed on this car. What changed on the 2024 Leon e-HYBRID?Almost everything about charging. The battery grew to 19.7 kWh usable from 25.8 kWh gross, the onboard charger tripled to 11 kW, and CCS rapid charging at 50 kW was added. That makes the 32A Type 2 to Type 2 cable the right buy, since 7.4 kW is what a UK home supply can deliver into it.How long does the Leon take to charge?A 2020 to 2024 car takes roughly 3 hours 33 minutes from flat, and a three pin lead stretches that to around 5 hours 15 minutes. The 2024 facelift needs about 3 hours on a 32A cable at 7.4 kW, or 2 hours 30 minutes at a three phase point where it draws the full 11 kW.Is the Leon eTSI a plug-in hybrid? No. The eTSI is a 48 volt mild hybrid, on sale since 2020, and its small battery is charged by the engine as you drive. There is no socket and no way to plug it in. It is the version most often confused with the e-HYBRID, so it is worth a look at the badge before buying.Should I choose a 5m or 10m cable?Pick 5m if your wallbox is mounted within a car length of the Leon charging flap and you always park the same way. Go for 10m if you charge at the kerb, reverse into a garage, or share a public post between bays. The longer lead removes the guesswork for a small extra cost.

For a Kia Optima PHEV, buy the Type 2 to Type 2 16A cable. The onboard charger in this car is rated at 3.3 kW, and 16A carries 3.7 kW, so a 16A lead already gives the car more than it can take. Everything above that is money spent on capacity the Optima cannot use. Before anything else, make sure yours actually plugs in. Most Optimas sold in Britain were the 1.7 CRDi or 2.0 CRDi diesel, and there was a 2.0 T-GDi Optima GT petrol as well. None of those have a charging port or a battery to fill, so no cable on this page fits them. Only cars badged PHEV plug in. Two plug-in versions were built. The Optima PHEV saloon ran from 2016 to 2019 with a 9.8 kWh battery. The Optima Sportswagon PHEV followed from 2017 to 2020 with a slightly larger 11.26 kWh pack. Both share the same Type 2 inlet and the same 3.3 kW charger, so the estate simply takes half an hour or so longer to fill. Trim level changes nothing. From flat, the saloon takes around three and a quarter hours and the Sportswagon around three and three quarters. Those are short sessions by any standard, which is the point of a plug-in hybrid: you top up while the car sits, and the battery is back before you next need it. We stock the 32A cable and the three phase 32A cable for this car and they will both plug in safely, but neither shortens a charge by a single minute, because the car's own charger sets the pace. The three phase one is doubly pointless at home, since British houses run on a single phase supply that stops at 7.4 kW regardless. A Type 2 to 3 Pin cable is a fair companion buy. At 2.3 kW it refills the saloon in about four and three quarter hours and the Sportswagon in around five and a half, so an ordinary socket at a relative's house or a rented cottage is a real option rather than a compromise. Choose 5m if the charge point sits close to where you park and 10m if you need slack. Type 2 to Type 2 cables are IP55 rated, Type 2 to 3 Pin cables are IP67, and all of them include a 2 year manufacturer's warranty and free next working day UK delivery. A Type 2 to Type 2 cable in the 16A version. Both plug-in Optimas use a Type 2 inlet and a 3.3 kW onboard charger, and 16A supplies 3.7 kW, comfortably above what the car will draw. That covers the 9.8 kWh saloon and the 11.26 kWh Sportswagon equally. Will a 32A cable charge my Optima quicker? No. The limit is the car, not the lead. With a 3.3 kW onboard charger, the saloon completes in about 3 hours 15 minutes and the Sportswagon in about 3 hours 45 minutes whichever Type 2 cable you plug in. A 32A cable is safe and compatible, just heavier and dearer for the same result. How long does an Optima PHEV take to charge? Roughly 3 hours 15 minutes from empty for the 9.8 kWh saloon and 3 hours 45 minutes for the 11.26 kWh Sportswagon, both at 3.3 kW. Drop to a three pin lead at 2.3 kW and those become about 4 hours 45 minutes and 5 hours 30 minutes respectively. Does the Kia Optima diesel need a charging cable? No. The 1.7 CRDi and 2.0 CRDi diesels and the 2.0 T-GDi Optima GT petrol have no battery pack and no charging socket, so there is nothing to plug in. Only cars wearing the PHEV badge, the saloon and the Sportswagon, can use anything listed on this page. Is the saloon cable the same as the Sportswagon one? Yes. Both bodystyles use an identical Type 2 inlet and the same 3.3 kW charger, so a single 16A cable serves either. The only difference is battery size, 9.8 kWh in the saloon against 11.26 kWh in the estate, which adds about half an hour to a full charge. What length Optima charging cable should I buy? Five metres covers a home wallbox mounted near the parking space. Ten metres is worth the extra if the car sits at the far end of a driveway or you rely on public bays. We also list 15 metre and 20 metre 32A cables, though the Optima has no need of that reach at home.

Buying a Panamera E-Hybrid used and finding no cable in the boot is common, and replacing it correctly takes one piece of information: the rating of the onboard charger fitted to your car. Every plug-in Panamera uses a Type 2 socket, so the connector is never in doubt. What varies is how much the car will draw. On cars from 2017 to 2023 Porsche fitted a 3.6 kW charger as standard and offered a 7.2 kW charger as a paid option. Usefully, the UK model name spells out which one you have, so your V5 or the original invoice settles it in seconds. A 3.6 kW car cannot use more than a 16A cable provides. A 7.2 kW car needs the 32A cable to work at full speed, and running one on a 16A lead roughly doubles every charge. The generations themselves are straightforward. The 970.2 Panamera S E-Hybrid of 2013 to 2016 has a 9.4 kWh battery and around 3.6 kW, though Porsche never published a figure for that car. The 971 of 2017 to 2020 moved to 14.1 kWh. The 971.2 of 2021 to 2023 grew again to 17.9 kWh. From the 972 in 2024 onwards the battery is 25.9 kWh gross and, more importantly, 11 kW became standard on every E-Hybrid, which finally makes the 32A cable the obvious buy without checking any paperwork. That 11 kW figure is a three phase number. British houses are single phase, so a 972 on a home wallbox charges at 7.4 kW and completes in about four hours. Reach a three phase post and the same car finishes in around two hours forty minutes. Only then does the three phase 32A cable earn its keep, and only on the 2024 car. Two more points settle the rest. No Panamera plug-in hybrid of any generation has DC rapid charging, so the Type 2 socket is your only route in and the cable matters more than it would elsewhere. And the Sport Turismo and Executive bodies charge exactly as the saloon of the same year, so pick by year and charger rating, not by shape. A Panamera without the E-Hybrid name has no charging port at all. Type 2 to Type 2 cables are IP55 and Type 2 to 3 Pin cables are IP67. Both come with a 2 year manufacturer's warranty and free next working day UK delivery. A Type 2 to Type 2 cable on every generation, from the 9.4 kWh 970.2 through to the 25.9 kWh 972. Choose 16A if your car has the 3.6 kW charger and 32A if it has the 7.2 kW option or is a 2024 onwards car with 11 kW as standard. How do I know my Panamera's charger rating? Between 2017 and 2023 the UK model name states it, so your V5 document or original invoice will tell you whether the car left the factory with the 3.6 kW charger or the 7.2 kW option. Cars from 2024 need no checking at all, because 11 kW is standard on every E-Hybrid. Is the 32A cable worth paying for? It depends on the car. A 7.2 kW Panamera fills its 17.9 kWh pack in about 2 hours 45 minutes on 32A against 5 hours 30 minutes on 16A, so yes. A 3.6 kW car takes exactly the same time on either cable, so the 16A version is the sensible buy. How long does a Panamera E-Hybrid take to charge? The 14.1 kWh 971 needs about 4 hours 30 minutes at 3.6 kW or 2 hours 15 minutes at 7.2 kW. The 17.9 kWh 971.2 takes 5 hours 30 minutes or 2 hours 45 minutes. The 2024 car manages about 4 hours at home and roughly 2 hours 39 minutes on three phase. Can a Panamera use a rapid charger? No. Porsche has never given any plug-in hybrid Panamera a DC rapid charging socket, on any generation from 2013 to today. Everything goes in through the Type 2 inlet, which is why picking a cable matched to your onboard charger makes a real difference to how the car lives. Does the Sport Turismo need a different cable? No. The Sport Turismo and Executive bodies charge identically to the saloon of the same model year, so choose by year and charger rating rather than by body shape. A Panamera without the E-Hybrid name has no charging port, so no cable on this page will fit it.

    Mini Countryman Charging Cable

The Mini Countryman is the one car on this site where you cannot tell the charging speed from the badge, and the difference is nearly six to one. A Countryman Electric E or SE ALL4 from 2024 has an 11 kW three phase onboard charger, and a 22 kW three phase charger was available as a factory option. An F60 Cooper S E ALL4 plug-in hybrid, sold from 2017 to 2023, takes 3.6 kW and nothing more. And the current petrol cars MINI itself calls Countryman C and Countryman S are 48 volt mild hybrids with no charging socket at all, despite the word hybrid appearing in the model name. Any Countryman that plugs in uses a Type 2 to Type 2 Charging Cable. The socket moved between generations: the F60 plug-in hybrid takes its charge through a flap in the left-hand front scuttle, ahead of the driver's door, while the 2024 Countryman Electric charges through the right rear side panel. Order the 32A single phase cable for home. Three phase power comes into commercial premises, not houses, and a domestic supply caps everything at 7.4 kW, which is what a Countryman Electric will draw on your driveway whether it left the factory with the 11 kW charger or the 22 kW one. The 32A three phase cable only pays for itself somewhere with three genuine phases, such as an office car park, where an 11 kW car drops from 10 hours to 6 hours 45 minutes. The 16A cable is fine on the plug-in hybrid, which cannot exceed 3.6 kW anyway, and poor on the electric car. There it holds the Countryman at 3.7 kW and stretches a full charge from 10 hours to 19 hours 45 minutes, so on the electric car it is nearly ten wasted hours a charge. A domestic socket lead is more useful on the plug-in hybrid than on the electric car. Our Type 2 to 3-Pin Charging Cable moves 2.3 kW from a 13 amp socket, which fills an F60 Cooper S E in about 5 hours and would take a Countryman Electric more than a day. On the plug-in that makes a household socket a real charging method. Our guide sets out what a house socket delivers. The smaller hatchback has its own page at Mini Electric charging cable, and the BMW that shares the F60's plug-in hardware era is covered at BMW 330e charging cable. Everything for the marque is in Mini EV charging cables. What the IP numbers further down actually mean is set out in our guide to IP ratings. Build standard is IEC 62196 Type 2, CE certified. Sealing is IP55 on the Type 2 to Type 2 leads and IP67 on the Type 2 to 3-Pin. Everything works between -30C and +50C, or +60C for the 3-pin, comes with a 2 year manufacturer's warranty, and ships free next working day in the UK. MINI has never disclosed a net capacity for either pack, so the times above start from the gross number and run slightly long. Cold mornings and long motorway runs will each shave miles off that last column. Mini Countryman Charging Cable FAQs Which cable does a Mini Countryman need? It depends which Countryman you have. A 2024 on Countryman Electric and an F60 Cooper S E ALL4 plug-in hybrid both use a Type 2 to Type 2 Charging Cable, but the electric car wants the 32A single phase version while the plug-in hybrid is fully served by the cheaper 16A one. A petrol Countryman C or S has no socket and needs nothing. Is the Mini Countryman C or S a plug-in hybrid? No. MINI sells the current petrol Countryman as the Countryman C and Countryman S with 48 volt mild hybrid assistance, and neither has a charging socket of any kind. The only Countryman you can plug in are the F60 Cooper S E ALL4 of 2017 to 2023 and the fully electric Countryman E and SE ALL4 from 2024. Did my Countryman Electric come with the 22kW charger? There is no way to tell from the badge, because MINI sold AC Charging Professional as a priced option on the Countryman Electric alongside the standard 11 kW unit. It makes no difference at home, where a single phase supply holds either car to 7.4 kW. It only matters on a three phase supply, so check the original build sheet before paying for a three phase cable. How long does a Mini Countryman Electric take to charge at home? Roughly 10 hours to fill an empty battery using a 32A cable, and that applies to the Countryman E and the SE ALL4 alike, because both carry the same 64.7 kWh pack. On a 16A lead that becomes 19 hours 45 minutes, which no longer fits inside a night. What length of cable does a Mini Countryman need? Check which car you have first, because the socket is at opposite corners. On the 2024 Countryman Electric it is on the right rear side panel, which suits a 5m lead if you back onto the drive and the unit is mounted on the offside. On the F60 plug-in hybrid it is in the left front scuttle, which suits nose-in parking. On a 4.43 metre car, 10m removes the guesswork either way. Can I charge a Mini Countryman at a public AC post? Yes, and you need to bring the lead. UK untethered Type 2 posts have a bare socket at the charger end, so the same cable you use at home is the one that works there. The plug-in hybrid will draw its 3.6 kW and the Countryman Electric up to 11 kW on a three phase post.

The Porsche Taycan is the only car on this site with two AC charging ports, one in each front wing, and that single fact changes the length answer more than any specification does. Park either way round and a socket is on the near side. Every Taycan has an 11 kW three phase onboard charger as standard, and on a British house that becomes 7.4 kW, because a home supply carries one phase rather than three. All of them use a Type 2 to Type 2 Charging Cable. Porsche puts the DC socket on the right-hand side only, so the right wing takes both AC and rapid charging while the left is AC alone. Either will take the cable on this page. Buy the 32A single phase lead for home use. There is a real case for the 32A three phase version as well, because the Taycan genuinely accepts 11 kW: on a 22 kW public AC post or a workplace with three phases, a Performance Battery Plus car comes down from 14 hours 45 minutes to 10 hours. Between roughly 2021 and 2023 Porsche also offered a 22 kW onboard charger as an option, and cars fitted with it will pull the full 22 kW on such a supply. Porsche's own technical data for the 2024 facelift lists only the 11 kW unit, so newer cars are almost certainly 11 kW. The 16A cable has no place on a Taycan. It caps the car at 3.7 kW, and twenty five hours to fill a car built to cover ground quickly is not a serious proposition. The 3-pin cable is the one nobody expects to need until they do. Our Type 2 to 3-Pin Charging Cable delivers 2.3 kW from a standard wall socket, around 10 miles an hour, which will never fill a 97 kWh pack but does turn an overnight stop with no chargepoint into eighty miles of range. Our guide explains what a house socket can do. Porsche's plug-in hybrids charge far more slowly and are covered separately on the Porsche Cayenne charging cable and Porsche Panamera charging cable pages. The electric Macan is at Porsche Macan charging cable. All of them sit in Porsche EV charging cables, and our IP ratings guide explains the figures below. Rated from -30C to +50C, or +60C for the 3-pin, these cables are built to IEC 62196 Type 2 with CE certification. The Type 2 to Type 2 leads carry IP55 and the Type 2 to 3-Pin carries IP67. A 2 year manufacturer's warranty covers all of them and UK delivery is free next working day. Winter and sustained speed both take their toll on the recovery figure. Porsche Taycan Charging Cable FAQs What charging cable is right for a Porsche Taycan? Order the 32A single phase Type 2 to Type 2 lead for home. A Porsche Taycan takes 11 kW three phase at most, which a British house converts to 7.4 kW, and that cable carries every watt of it. Add the three phase version only if you charge at a site with three genuine phases. Why does a Taycan have two charging flaps? Porsche fits an AC charging port in each front wing on the Taycan, so you can plug in from either side of the car. Only the right-hand port takes DC rapid charging, but both accept the Type 2 cable on this page, which is why cable length is rarely a problem on this car. Did my Taycan come with the 22kW charger? Only some did. Porsche introduced a 22 kW onboard charger as an option for model year 2021 and it was never standard, so a 2021 to 2023 Taycan may have either. Porsche's technical data for the 2024 facelift lists 11 kW alone. Check your build specification before buying a three phase cable on the strength of it. How long does a Porsche Taycan take to charge at home? About 14 hours 45 minutes from empty for a 97 kWh Performance Battery Plus car on a 32A cable, and 12 hours 30 minutes for the 82.3 kWh Performance Battery. Nobody arrives home empty in practice, and a seven hour overnight window returns roughly 220 miles. What cable length suits a Porsche Taycan? Both ports sit in the front wings of a 4.96 metre car, so 5m works whenever the wallbox is anywhere near the front of the parking space, on either side. The 10m earns its place if you park a long way forward, charge at the kerb, or want the same lead to reach a second car. Is the 19.2kW figure on some Taycan listings correct? Not for a UK Porsche Taycan. The 9.6 kW and 19.2 kW numbers come from Porsche's North American technical data and describe a 240 volt single phase supply that does not exist in Britain. A UK listing showing 19.2 kW has copied an American figure.

Three electric Kangoos have been sold in the UK and they do not all take the same cable, so check the year on your V5 before ordering. The Kangoo Z.E. 33, built from 2017 to 2021, is the van this page is written for. It uses a Type 2 inlet with a 7.4 kW onboard charger, so a Type 2 to Type 2 cable at 32A is what you want. Its 31 kWh usable battery goes from flat to full in about 4 hours 45 minutes, so a van back at the yard at six in the evening is ready long before the first job. The current Kangoo E-Tech, from 2022, is also Type 2 but carries a 22 kW three phase charger and a 45 kWh usable battery. On a single phase supply, which is what almost every house and small unit has, you get 7.4 kW and about 6 hours 45 minutes. If your depot genuinely has three phase power, the 22kW cable is one of the few real upgrades on the market: the same battery fills in roughly 2 hours 15 minutes, which turns a lunch break into a useful charge. The older Kangoo Z.E. of 2011 to 2017 is the exception. It uses a Type 1 socket and none of the cables on this page will plug into it. You need a Type 1 to Type 2 cable, which is a separate product. Neither of the two older vans has any rapid charging, so AC is all you have. Length matters more on a van than on a car. A Kangoo reversed against a wall, parked behind another vehicle, or sharing a yard post with a colleague can easily need more than five metres. 10m is the safe choice for depot and kerbside work, while 5m is fine if the van always sits nose in beside its own charge point. We also stock 15m and 20m for larger sites, and the longer leads coil into the load bay without eating shelf space. Diesel and petrol Kangoos have no charging port and need nothing from us. Our Type 2 to Type 2 cables are IP55 rated and our 3 pin cables are IP67. Both carry a 2 year manufacturer's warranty, and every order ships with free next working day UK delivery. A Type 2 to Type 2 cable at 32A. The Z.E. 33, sold from 2017 to 2021, has a 7.4 kW onboard charger and a 31 kWh usable battery, so a 32A lead takes it from empty to full in about 4 hours 45 minutes. A 16A cable would nearly double that for no good reason. Will this cable fit a 2015 Kangoo Z.E.? No. Kangoos built between 2011 and 2017 use a Type 1 socket, and every cable on this page ends in a Type 2 plug. You need a Type 1 to Type 2 cable, which we list as a separate product. Those vans charge at 3.7 kW, hold 22 kWh, and have no rapid charging at all. Can I charge a Kangoo overnight at the depot? Comfortably. A Z.E. 33 on a 32A cable is full in roughly 4 hours 45 minutes, and a Kangoo E-Tech on a single phase supply takes about 6 hours 45 minutes. Both fit inside a normal overnight stand, so vans plugged in at five in the afternoon are ready for a first job. Is a three phase cable worth it for a Kangoo E-Tech? Yes, if the depot has three phase power. The E-Tech is one of very few vans with a 22 kW onboard charger, and on a three phase post its 45 kWh battery goes from empty to full in around 2 hours 15 minutes rather than 6 hours 45 minutes. On a single phase supply it changes nothing. What length cable should I buy for a yard? 10m for most working vans. A shared yard post is rarely where you want to park, and reversing against a wall or sitting behind another vehicle eats the slack fast. 5m is enough only when the van always parks nose in beside its own charge point. We stock 15m and 20m for larger sites. Does the diesel Kangoo need a charging cable? No. Petrol and diesel Kangoos of any year have no charging port, so nothing here will connect to them. Only the Z.E., the Z.E. 33 and the E-Tech electric vans plug in. If you cannot find a charging flap on the front or the wing of your van, it is not an electric model.

    BMW iX Charging Cable

Delivered in 3-11 working days  Can't find what you're looking for? Contact us for availability.

A BMW iX charging cable has to move more energy than any other car we supply. The xDrive50 and the M60 carry 105.2 kWh usable, which is more than three Nissan Leafs, and every iX accepts 11 kW on AC as standard. That size changes the character of home charging. On a British single-phase supply, which gives 7.4 kW, a 105.2 kWh iX takes about 16 hours from empty. There is no cheap-rate window that long. It is the one car in our range where a three-phase supply stops being a nice extra and starts changing how you live with the vehicle, because it takes the same charge down to about 10 hours 45 minutes. In practice most iX owners never see an empty battery, and that is the sensible approach. Plugging in nightly from 40 or 50 percent turns a 16 hour problem into a 7 hour one that fits comfortably inside off-peak hours. The car is easier to own if you stop thinking about full charges. Every BMW iX charges through a Type 2 to Type 2 Charging Cable, ours sealed to IP55, on the xDrive40, the xDrive50 and the M60 alike. Our 1-Phase, 32A cable is the right buy for a driveway, carrying the whole 7.4 kW a house can produce. Our 22 kW three-phase cable cannot take an iX past its own 11 kW, but on a genuine three-phase supply that 11 kW is worth having on a battery this large. No BMW iX of this generation was offered with a 22 kW onboard charger, so 11 kW is the ceiling either way. The 16A cable is simply not viable here. At 3.7 kW an xDrive50 needs 32 hours 15 minutes from empty, which is a day and a third, and returns about 13 miles of range an hour. Even the smaller xDrive40 takes 21 hours 45 minutes. This is the clearest case in our whole range for not economising on the cable. Our Type 2 to 3-Pin Charging Cable is IP67 sealed and draws 2.3 kW, which on an iX is strictly an emergency measure at roughly 8 miles of range an hour. It has its place for a night at a hotel with nothing else available, and no more than that. Our note on charging from a household socket sets out why. Elsewhere in the range the BMW iX3 and the BMW i7 have their own numbers, and the BMW charging cable range covers the rest. Our IP ratings guide explains what the sealing figures protect against. Two year manufacturer's warranty, free next working day UK delivery, IEC 62196 Type 2 construction, CE certified, rated from -30C to +50C, or +60C for the 3-pin. BMW requoted iX range figures during the model's life, so treat them as a band. Cold weather and motorway speeds each reduce them further. BMW iX Charging Cable FAQs Which cable does a BMW iX need? For a BMW iX the answer is a Type 2 to Type 2 cable at 32A single phase, on every version from the xDrive40 to the M60. It carries the full 7.4 kW a house can supply, and on a battery this large getting every watt matters more than on any other car we cover. How long does a BMW iX take to charge at home? About 16 hours from empty for a 105.2 kWh BMW iX xDrive50 or M60, and about 10 hours 45 minutes for the 71 kWh xDrive40, both on a 7.4 kW wallbox. No off-peak window covers the larger figure, which is why most owners charge nightly from part full rather than running the battery down. Is a three-phase cable worth it on a BMW iX? More so than on almost any car, provided you can reach a genuine three-phase supply. It takes a 105.2 kWh BMW iX from about 16 hours to 10 hours 45 minutes, which is the difference between an overnight charge and one that is still running at lunchtime. At a normal house it delivers 7.4 kW, exactly as the 32A single-phase cable does. Can a BMW iX use a 22kW onboard charger? Not on this generation. Every BMW iX xDrive40, xDrive50 and M60 has an 11 kW onboard charger as standard and there was no 22 kW option on UK cars, so the car caps at 11 kW even on a three-phase supply. Is a 16A cable ever sensible on a BMW iX? No. A 16A cable holds a BMW iX at 3.7 kW, which means 32 hours 15 minutes from empty on the big battery and about 13 miles of range recovered per hour. On a car of this size the saving against a 32A cable is repaid within weeks of charging at off-peak rates. What cable length works for a BMW iX? 10m, and it is not a close call. The iX is nearly five metres long and over two metres wide including mirrors, so it dominates a driveway and the charging flap ends up a long way from most wall units. 5m only makes sense inside a garage where the car parks against the same wall as the charger every time.

If you run an electric Vito, you almost certainly run an eVito, and it takes a Type 2 to Type 2 cable at 32A. Order the 5m or the 10m. That single cable covers the whole eVito range: the 41 kWh panel van of 2019 to 2020, the 60 kWh panel van from 2020, and the 90 kWh eVito Tourer. All three use a Type 2 inlet, so there is no connector decision to make. The van in this page's title is a different story. The Vito E-CELL was built between 2010 and 2013, around 2,000 of them, and leased to fleets in Germany and Spain rather than sold to customers. We have found no evidence of right hand drive UK sales, and its 36 kWh pack predates the Type 2 standard, so its connector is not something we can confirm. We will not sell you a cable on a guess. If you genuinely have an E-CELL, contact us before buying anything. For the eVito, plan around your depot supply. The 60 kWh panel van and the 90 kWh Tourer both accept 11 kW, which is a three phase figure. On the single phase supply that almost every yard and every house has, you get 7.4 kW, and the 32A single phase cable delivers that in full. From empty, that is about nine hours fifteen minutes for the 60 kWh van and about thirteen hours forty five for the Tourer. On a three phase post those drop to six hours fifteen and nine hours fifteen. The 41 kWh van is the one gap in our data. Mercedes UK has not confirmed its AC charge rate, so we do not quote a charging time for it. The 32A cable is still the right purchase, because it will supply whatever the van asks for up to the 7.4 kW ceiling, but we would rather leave a blank than invent a number for your shift planning. A Type 2 to Type 2 at 32A, in 5m or 10m. Every eVito uses a Type 2 inlet, from the 41 kWh panel van through to the 90 kWh Tourer. On a single phase depot supply that cable gives 7.4 kW, filling the 60 kWh van in about nine hours fifteen minutes from empty. Can I buy a cable for a Vito E-CELL? Not without speaking to us first. The E-CELL was leased to fleets in Germany and Spain between 2010 and 2013, never sold to UK customers, and its 36 kWh system predates the Type 2 standard. We cannot confirm the connector, so we will not claim a cable fits. Contact us before ordering. Will an eVito fully charge overnight at a depot? The 60 kWh panel van will, at about nine hours fifteen minutes on a 32A single phase cable. The 90 kWh Tourer needs roughly thirteen hours forty five, which overruns a normal shutdown. On a three phase site those become six hours fifteen and nine hours fifteen respectively. Is a three phase cable worth it for a fleet? If your yard has a three phase supply, yes. The 60 kWh and 90 kWh eVito both accept 11 kW, which knocks three hours off the panel van and four and a half off the Tourer. On a single phase supply it delivers the same 7.4 kW as the cheaper cable, so check the board first. What length suits a van yard? 10m in most cases. Drivers park where there is space rather than where the post is, and a 5m cable turns that into a daily argument. 10m reaches across an adjacent bay and tolerates a van left at an angle, which matters more than the small saving on the shorter cable. Should each van carry its own spare cable? A 3 pin cable behind the seats is cheap insurance for a van that works away from the yard. At 2.3 kW it will not refill 60 kWh, but an overnight stop at a customer site or a hotel adds enough to complete the round. Keep the 32A cable on the depot post.

The Jeep Renegade 4xe takes a Type 2 to Type 2 cable, and the 32A single phase lead is the one to order. Jeep quotes 7.4 kW and a recharge of about one hour 40 minutes, and only a 32A cable can carry that. On the Renegade, 4xe genuinely does mean plug-in hybrid, and the car has a Type 2 socket. Elsewhere in the range it does not. Jeep also sells a Renegade e-Hybrid, which is a 48V mild hybrid with no charging port at all, and on the newer Avenger the 4xe badge signifies a mild hybrid rather than a plug-in. Three letters, opposite meanings, depending on which model you are standing next to. Confirm your car has a socket before you spend anything. There is one honest caveat about the charge rate. Jeep presents 7.4 kW as a wallbox capability rather than stating the onboard charger rating outright, and some markets list a slower 3.7 kW unit. A 32A cable covers both possibilities. If your Renegade has the faster charger you get the full one hour 40 minute recharge, and if it has the 3.7 kW unit you have lost nothing, because the cable is never the part doing the limiting. The battery is 11.4 kWh gross, which is modest, and the Renegade 4xe has no rapid charging whatsoever. AC is the only route in, so this cable does all the work of keeping the electric range usable. The Compass 4xe shares the same powertrain and the same 11.4 kWh battery, so these numbers apply to that car too. Leave the three phase cable alone here. Its 22 kW rating is a three phase figure and the Renegade is quoted at 7.4 kW, so the extra capacity has nothing to do. British houses are single phase anyway, which puts 7.4 kW at the top of what any home wallbox will hand over. On length, 5m is fine when the wallbox stands beside the parking space. Choose 10m if the Renegade sits across a driveway, on the road outside, or at a shared workplace post. Leads are IP55 rated, or IP67 on the 3 pin version, CE certified, and every one arrives with a 2 year manufacturer's warranty and free next working day UK delivery. Type 2 to Type 2, 32A three phase (5m, 10m) 7.4 kW, capped by the car About 1h40m No advantage over the 32A lead. Jeep Renegade 4xe Charging Cable FAQs Which cable does a Jeep Renegade 4xe take? A Type 2 to Type 2 cable, ideally the 32A single phase version. The Renegade 4xe is quoted by Jeep at 7.4 kW, which is exactly what a 32A lead delivers on a home wallbox, and that fills the 11.4 kWh battery in around one hour 40 minutes. Available in 5m and 10m. Does the Renegade e-Hybrid need a cable? No. The Renegade e-Hybrid is a 48V mild hybrid, charged by its own engine, and it has no charging port for a cable to plug into. Only the Renegade 4xe plug-in hybrid, sold from 2020 to 2024, has a Type 2 socket. On the Avenger, confusingly, 4xe means mild hybrid. How fast does a Renegade 4xe charge? Jeep quotes about one hour 40 minutes for a full charge of the 11.4 kWh battery at 7.4 kW using a 32A cable. If your car carries the 3.7 kW charger listed in some markets, expect nearer 3h30m. A domestic three pin socket at 2.3 kW takes roughly 5h30m. Is the 32A cable better than the 16A one? For a 7.4 kW Renegade, yes: 1h40m against 3h30m for the same 11.4 kWh charge. Because Jeep is not explicit about the onboard charger rating, the 32A lead is also the safer buy. It never limits the car, whichever onboard charger turns out to be fitted to your car. Can I use a three pin plug for the Renegade? Yes, with a Type 2 to 3 Pin lead. At 2.3 kW it needs about 5h30m to fill the 11.4 kWh battery, which suits an overnight stop somewhere without a wallbox. The lead is IP67 rated for outdoor sockets. Use a wallbox and the 32A cable as your everyday method. Do I need 5m or 10m for my driveway? 5m covers a Renegade parked alongside its charge point with a clear run to the socket. Order 10m if the wallbox is set back, the car faces away from it, or you also charge at a workplace bay. Both lengths are stocked in 16A, 32A and three phase.

A 16A Type 2 to Type 2 cable is the correct choice for the 918 Spyder. The onboard charger is rated at 3.6 kW and the battery holds 6.8 kWh, so a 16A lead already matches what the car can accept. The 32A cable fits the same socket and is perfectly safe to use, but it will not shorten a charge by a single minute. The car, not the cable, sets the rate. Buy it only if you want one lead that also serves a newer, faster car in the same household.Porsche built 918 cars between 2013 and 2015. UK and European examples use a Type 2 inlet, which was already the European standard when the car was launched, so a Type 2 to Type 2 cable is the right shape. North American cars were fitted with Type 1 instead. If you have imported one, this cable will not connect to it and you need a Type 1 lead. The Weissach Package changes nothing electrical. Battery, charger and connector are identical, so the same 16A cable applies. From empty, a 16A cable fills the pack in roughly two and a quarter hours. A Type 2 to 3 Pin lead pulls 2.3 kW from an ordinary domestic socket and takes a little over three hours, which is a practical option given how small the battery is.The 22 kW three phase cable has no use here. Homes in Britain are supplied with a single phase, so a domestic charge point cannot go beyond 7.4 kW, and the 918 stops at 3.6 kW in any case. The charge rate is always the lowest of three figures: the car, the supply and the cable.Porsche also offered a bespoke Speed Charging Station with the car. That was a DC unit built for the 918 rather than anything on the public network, and it has no bearing on which AC cable you buy.Type 2 to Type 2 cables are IP55 rated, Type 2 to 3 Pin cables are IP67, both come in 5m and 10m lengths, and every order includes a 2 year manufacturer's warranty and free next working day UK delivery.Porsche 918 Spyder Charging Times918 Spyder, 2013 to 2015, 6.8 kWh Cable Type Max Charge Rate Empty to Full Verdict Type 2 to 3 Pin, 5m or 10m 2.3 kW 3h15m Workable on a small battery Type 2 to Type 2 16A, 5m or 10m 3.6 kW, the car's limit 2h15m Best fit Type 2 to Type 2 32A, 5m or 10m 3.6 kW, the car's limit 2h15m Fits, but no quicker Type 2 to Type 2 32A three phase, 5m or 10m 3.6 kW, the car's limit 2h15m No reason to buy The Panamera S E-Hybrid of 2013 to 2016 also takes a Type 2 inlet and about 3.6 kW into a 9.4 kWh battery, so a 16A cable suits that car too.Porsche 918 Spyder Charging Cable FAQsWhich cable does a Porsche 918 Spyder need?A 16A Type 2 to Type 2 cable. UK and European cars have a Type 2 inlet and a 3.6 kW onboard charger, and 16A delivers 3.7 kW, which is more than the car will draw. With only 6.8 kWh to fill, that is a complete charge in about two and a quarter hours. Is a 32A cable any faster on a 918 Spyder? No. The 918 accepts 3.6 kW and nothing above it, so a 32A cable delivers exactly the same charge in exactly the same two and a quarter hours. It is a sensible purchase only if the same cable will also be used on a newer car that can draw 7.4 kW.How long does a 918 Spyder take to charge?About two hours fifteen minutes from empty on a home charge point, since the 6.8 kWh battery fills at 3.6 kW. A Type 2 to 3 Pin lead from a standard 13A socket runs at 2.3 kW and needs roughly three hours fifteen minutes, which is still an overnight job at worst.Does the Weissach Package change the charging? No. The Weissach cars carry the same 6.8 kWh battery, the same Type 2 socket and the same 3.6 kW onboard charger as a standard 918 Spyder. The package alters weight and trim rather than the electrical system, so the 16A Type 2 to Type 2 cable is again the one to order. Why does an imported 918 have a different plug?Cars built for North America were fitted with a Type 1 inlet, which has five pins and a different shape. A Type 2 cable will not physically connect to one. If your 918 came from the United States or Canada, order a Type 1 lead rather than anything listed on this page. What cable length suits a Porsche 918 Spyder?Five metres is usually ample for a car kept in a garage with a wall box on the same wall. Ten metres is worth having if the charge point is at the far end of a workshop, or the car shares space with others and cannot always take the same bay.

Start with the badge, because the 3008 name now covers cars that charge and cars that cannot. The HYBRID4 300 and the HYBRID 225, built from 2019 and 2020, are plug-in hybrids sharing a 13.2 kWh battery and a Type 2 socket. The E-3008 launched in 2024 is the full electric car, with 73 kWh usable, and the 2025 Long Range holds 98 kWh. The 2025 Plug-in Hybrid 195 carries 21 kWh. The one that catches people out is the Hybrid 136 sold from 2023: it is a 48 volt mild hybrid with a 0.9 kWh battery, no charging port and nothing to plug into. PureTech petrol and BlueHDi diesel cars have no socket either. For any E-3008, order the Type 2 to Type 2 32A cable. The car has an 11 kW onboard charger, but a British home runs on a single phase supply, so 7.4 kW is what the 32A lead actually delivers there. The 11 kW figure only appears at a three phase charge point, reached with the 32A three phase cable. The same 32A lead is right for the 2025 Plug-in Hybrid 195, where Peugeot offers a 7.4 kW charger as an option and does not publish the standard rating. The older HYBRID4 300 and HYBRID 225 are a different case. They charge at 3.7 kW as standard, with 7.4 kW available as a factory option, so a 16A cable is enough for most of them. If you know yours has the faster charger, or you cannot tell, the 32A lead covers both fitments for very little extra. A 16A cable will never harm the car, it simply stops at 3.7 kW.Length is the remaining choice. 5m is fine when a wallbox sits beside the parking space. 10m earns its money on a longer driveway, in a garage where the unit is on the far wall, or at a shared post you have to reach across a bay.All our Type 2 to Type 2 cables are IP55 rated. The E-3008 and the 2025 Plug-in Hybrid 195 both want the 32A Type 2 to Type 2 cable, which delivers 7.4 kW at home. The 2019 to 2023 HYBRID4 300 and HYBRID 225 charge at 3.7 kW as standard, so a 16A lead is enough for those cars.Does the 3008 Hybrid 136 take a cable? No. The Hybrid 136, sold from 2023, is a 48 volt mild hybrid carrying a 0.9 kWh battery that the engine and the brakes keep topped up. There is no charging port anywhere on the car, so nothing will plug in. This is easily the most common mix up across the 3008 range. Is 32A worth paying for over 16A?On a 2019 to 2023 plug-in, only if yours carries the optional 7.4 kW charger. With the standard 3.7 kW unit both cables fill the 13.2 kWh battery in roughly 4 hours. With the faster charger the 32A lead cuts that to about 2 hours, and since it fits either car it is the safer purchase. How long does the E-3008 take to charge? The 73 kWh car needs about 11 hours 15 minutes from empty at 7.4 kW using a 32A cable. The 98 kWh Long Range takes roughly 15 hours. At a three phase charge point the car draws its full 11 kW, which brings those down to around 7 hours 30 minutes and 10 hours. Can the E-3008 really charge at 11 kW?Only where there is three phase power. The car has an 11 kW onboard charger, but British homes are single phase, so a domestic wallbox and a 32A cable give you 7.4 kW. The 32A three phase cable is what releases the full 11 kW at a workplace or public point wired for three phase. What length cable should I buy?5m does the job when the charge point sits alongside the parking space and the flap faces it. Choose 10m for a longer driveway, a garage with the unit on the far wall, or a shared bay where the 3008 does not always park the same way round. Most buyers take 10m.

Both plug-in versions of the B Class take a Type 2 to Type 2 cable, and on both the 32A version is the one to buy. What separates them is how much they hold, and so how long they sit on the drive. There are two of them and they are easy to confuse, because Mercedes used the B 250 e badge twice. The 2015 to 2017 car, sold as the B-Class Electric Drive and later relabelled B 250 e, is fully electric with 28 kWh of usable battery from a 31 kWh pack. The 2020 to 2022 B 250 e is a plug-in hybrid: 15.6 kWh installed, about 10.6 kWh of it usable, with a petrol engine alongside it. Same socket, very different charging job. The electric car's onboard charger is the one figure we cannot pin down. It is widely reported as 9.6 kW, which Mercedes UK has never confirmed. What Mercedes did publish was 3 to 4 hours from a wallbox. In a British house the distinction is academic, because domestic supplies here are single phase and 7.4 kW is the practical ceiling whatever the car will accept. A 32A Type 2 cable delivers that 7.4 kW, which puts 28 kWh in over roughly four and a quarter hours. The plug-in hybrid is quoted at 7.4 kW, so the same 32A cable is again correct. With only 10.6 kWh to replace it finishes in about an hour and a half, which is short enough to be worth doing during a supermarket shop. The 16A cable at 3.7 kW fits both cars but roughly doubles every figure above. It is worth buying only if the charge point you use is itself limited to 16A. The 3 pin cable is a fallback on the electric car, where 28 kWh at 2.3 kW runs to nearly fourteen hours, though it is more reasonable on the hybrid. We also list a three phase 22 kW cable. It fits, and it will not charge either B Class faster, because neither car is quoted above 9.6 kW and a home supply is not three phase to begin with. The petrol and diesel B Class models, the B 180, B 200, B 200 d and B 220 d, have no charging port and need nothing from this page. All are CE certified and come with a 2 year manufacturer's warranty and free next working day UK delivery. Mercedes B Class Charging Cable FAQs Which cable does the Mercedes B Class need? A Type 2 to Type 2 cable, in the 32A version. That applies to the 2015 to 2017 Electric Drive with its 28 kWh usable battery and to the 2020 to 2022 B 250 e hybrid at 7.4 kW. Neither car has ever used a Type 1 socket, so one cable covers both. How do I tell the electric car from the hybrid? Look for a petrol filler. The 2015 to 2017 Electric Drive has no engine and holds 28 kWh usable. The 2020 to 2022 B 250 e is a plug-in hybrid with a 15.6 kWh pack, roughly 10.6 kWh of it usable, and a fuel cap as well as a charge flap. Both use the same cable. Is the 22 kW three phase cable worth buying? No, not for either B Class. The electric car is reported at 9.6 kW and the hybrid at 7.4 kW, and a UK home is single phase, which caps you at 7.4 kW anyway. The 32A single phase cable reaches that ceiling for less money. Three phase only helps at a genuine three phase site. How long does the B 250 e hybrid take? Around an hour and a half from empty on a 32A cable at 7.4 kW, since there is only about 10.6 kWh to put back. The 16A cable stretches that to roughly three and a quarter hours, and a 3 pin lead at 2.3 kW takes a little over five hours, which still fits inside a night. Does a B 180 or B 200 need a charging cable? No. The B 180, B 200, B 200 d and B 220 d are petrol and diesel models with no charging port anywhere on the car, so nothing on this page will connect to them. Only the Electric Drive and the B 250 e plug in. Check for a charge flap before ordering. What length cable should I choose? Take 5m if the B Class parks within a couple of metres of the charge point and faces the right way. Take 10m if the socket is behind you, across a shared bay, or on the far side of a garage. Longer 15m and 20m 32A cables are stocked for difficult driveways.

The Audi Q7 e-tron takes a Type 2 to Type 2 cable at 32A. Buy the 5m or the 10m and you are done. Every plug-in Q7 accepts 7.4 kW on AC and nothing more, whichever badge or model year you have, so a three phase cable cannot make this car charge faster. If a previous version of this page told you otherwise, ignore it. The 32A single phase cable is the correct choice. Only a TFSI e badge plugs in. A Q7 wearing TFSI, TDI or SQ7 lettering has no charging inlet and needs nothing from us. Trim and specification make no difference to charging, so do not spend time working out whether yours is a Sport, S line or Vorsprung. What matters is the model year, because the 2024 facelift changed the battery without touching the charger. Cars built from 2019 to 2023, badged 55 TFSI e or 60 TFSI e, carry 14.4 kWh usable. At the full 7.4 kW that is roughly two hours fifteen minutes from empty, which is short enough to fit into an evening rather than a whole night. The 2024 cars onwards still wear the 55 and 60 TFSI e badges but hold 22 kWh usable from a 25.9 kWh gross pack. Same 7.4 kW charger, half again the energy, so the fill stretches to about three hours thirty. That difference is the reason to bother with the 32A cable rather than the 16A. On a 16A cable a facelift Q7 needs about six hours forty five minutes, which turns a top up you could do while cooking dinner into an overnight job. On the older car the gap is smaller but still real, four hours thirty against two hours fifteen. A plug-in hybrid is only worth the fuel saving if it actually gets charged, and a slow cable is the usual reason it does not. UK homes run on a single phase supply, so 7.4 kW is the fastest any domestic wallbox can push, and that happens to be exactly what this car will accept. There is nothing left on the table. Our Type 2 to Type 2 cables are IP55 rated and the 3 pin units IP67. Both come with a 2 year manufacturer's warranty and free next working day UK delivery. A Type 2 to Type 2 cable rated at 32A, in 5m or 10m. Every plug-in Q7 has a Type 2 inlet and a 7.4 kW onboard charger, so the 32A single phase cable matches the car exactly. Nothing faster exists for this vehicle, and nothing slower makes sense if you charge at home. Does my Q7 plug in at all? Only if the badge reads TFSI e. A Q7 55 TFSI or 60 TFSI on petrol, any TDI diesel, and the SQ7 all lack a charging inlet entirely, whatever mild hybrid technology sits underneath. Check the rear badge and look for a second flap on the front wing. No flap means no cable required. How long does a Q7 e-tron take to charge? On the 32A cable at 7.4 kW, a 2019 to 2023 car with 14.4 kWh usable takes about two hours fifteen minutes from empty. A 2024 facelift with 22 kWh usable takes about three hours thirty. Both figures assume a working home wallbox rather than a domestic three pin socket. Is a 22 kW three phase cable worth it? No. The Q7 TFSI e accepts 7.4 kW on AC and will not exceed it, so a three phase cable costs more and delivers exactly the same two hours fifteen or three hours thirty. UK homes are single phase anyway, capping any wallbox at 7.4 kW. Save the money and buy the 32A single phase. How do I tell a 2024 Q7 from an earlier one? The badge is no help, since both wear 55 and 60 TFSI e. Go by registration year instead. Cars registered 2019 to 2023 hold 14.4 kWh usable. Cars from 2024 hold 22 kWh usable, from a 25.9 kWh gross pack, and take roughly seventy five minutes longer to fill on the same cable. Do I need a 5m or 10m cable? The Q7 is a long car, so the distance from a wallbox to the inlet is easily more than the tape measure suggests once you allow for parking angle. 5m works with a wallbox alongside the bay. Pick 10m for a garage wall behind the car or a shared driveway with two vehicles.

Every version charges through a Type 2 inlet, so the lead is a Type 2 to Type 2. The onboard AC charger is 11 kW on all of them, a three phase rating, and no quicker AC option was offered. A UK home supply is single phase, so the car draws at most 7.4 kW at a house and the 32A single phase cable delivers that in full, filling a 66.5 kWh EQB in about 10 hours 15 minutes. Lengths are 5 and 10 metres, with 15 and 20 metres in the 32A single phase cable. Built to IEC 62196-2 and CE certified, IP55 sealed, rated from -30C to +50C, or +60C for the 3-pin. For a Smart EQ ForTwo the answer depends on where you plug in. At home, on a single phase supply, a 32A Type 2 to Type 2 cable is all you need. The battery holds only 16.7 kWh usable, so 7.4 kW clears it from empty in about 2 hours 30 minutes. The Smart is the odd one out in our catalogue. From 2020 every EQ ForTwo left the factory able to accept 22 kW of AC, more than many far larger and far dearer cars manage. Between 2017 and 2019 that ability was a paid extra called the 22kW Charger, and cars without it are limited to 4.6 kW. UK adverts and original invoices usually name the option, so check the paperwork before choosing. Remember that 22 kW is a three phase figure. A British home is single phase and cannot exceed 7.4 kW, so the three phase cable only earns its price if you regularly park at a three phase post. Where you do, it fills this battery in roughly 45 minutes. Charge only at home and the 32A single phase cable is the smarter buy. No Smart of any year has rapid charging, so AC is the only way in. This is also one of the rare cars where a Type 2 to 3 pin cable works as a plan rather than a panic. At 2.3 kW a flat battery is full in about 8 hours 15 minutes, which is one night's sleep. If you have no wallbox and cover modest daily miles, it can honestly be your main cable. Cars from the 2013 to 2016 third generation are harder to pin down. Their AC charging is slow, somewhere around 3.3 to 4.6 kW, and we could not confirm one figure, so we have not published charge times for them. A 32A Type 2 to Type 2 cable covers whatever that car accepts. On length, 5m suits most owners because the car is tiny and parks close in. Take 10m if the wallbox is round a corner, across a shared yard, or you rely on public posts. Petrol ForTwo models from 1998 onwards have no charging port. Every cable includes a 2 year manufacturer's warranty and free next working day UK delivery. Type 2 to Type 2 cables are IP55 rated, Type 2 to 3 pin cables are IP67. A 32A Type 2 to Type 2 cable for home use. The pack holds only 16.7 kWh usable, so 7.4 kW takes it from empty to full in about 2 hours 30 minutes. Cars limited to 4.6 kW need roughly 4 hours on the very same cable. Every Smart of every year uses a Type 2 inlet. Is the 22 kW three phase cable worth it? Only if you use three phase charge points. There a 22 kW car fills in around 45 minutes, which is remarkable for something this size. At home the supply is single phase and caps at 7.4 kW, so the cheaper 32A single phase cable finishes the job just as quickly for less outlay. How fast does a Smart charge at home? About 2 hours 30 minutes from empty on a 7.4 kW wallbox with the 32A cable, whether your car is a 2020 to 2024 EQ ForTwo or a 2017 to 2019 car carrying the 22kW Charger. A 4.6 kW car takes roughly 4 hours. The 16A cable needs about 5 hours either way. Does my car have the 22kW Charger option? Anything built from 2020 has 22 kW as standard, so there is nothing to check. On 2017 to 2019 cars it was a paid extra, and UK sellers normally put 22kW Charger in the trim name. Your original invoice, or the advert the car was sold under, is the quickest place to look. Can a 3 pin cable be my main cable? For plenty of Smart owners, yes. A 2.3 kW 3 pin lead fills the 16.7 kWh battery in about 8 hours 15 minutes, so a night on charge starts the morning full. That only works because the battery is small. The lead is IP67 rated, though a wallbox remains faster and kinder to the socket. Is 5m long enough for a Smart ForTwo? Usually. The car is under three metres long and tends to park tight to the wall, so 5m reaches most home wallboxes. Choose 10m if the charge point sits round a corner, across a shared yard, or you depend on street posts where the bay position keeps changing.

    Kia Sorento Charging Cable

Check the badge before you order. Only the Sorento 1.6 T-GDi PHEV, built from 2021 onwards, has a charging port. The 1.6 T-GDi HEV self-charging hybrid tops its own small battery up from the engine, the 2.2 CRDi diesel has no traction battery at all, and no Sorento built between 2015 and 2020 was offered as a plug-in. If your car is one of those, no cable will help, because there is nothing to plug into. For the PHEV, buy the Type 2 to Type 2 16A cable. That is the honest recommendation and it also happens to be the cheapest tethered option we list. The reason sits in the onboard charger. The Sorento PHEV accepts 3.3 kW on AC, which is modest for a 13.8 kWh battery and lower than the charger Kia fits to the Sportage PHEV. A 16A cable carries 3.7 kW, comfortably more than the car will ever draw, so it is never the thing holding you back. That is also why the 32A cable is not an upgrade here. A 32A single phase lead can pass 7.4 kW and the three phase version can pass 22 kW, but a car charges at the lowest of three limits: itself, the supply and the cable. The Sorento's own 3.3 kW ceiling is the lowest figure in every combination, so the dearer leads deliver the same energy over the same hours. Buy one only if a faster charging EV is due to replace the Sorento, otherwise put the money into length instead. Length is the decision that actually changes daily life with this car. Measure from the socket on your wallbox to the point where the charge flap sits when the Sorento is parked, then allow slack for the cable to turn rather than pull. Five metres suits a driveway with the charger on the same wall. Ten metres covers a car parked nose out, a shared bay, or a wallbox in the garage with the Sorento on the drive. Every cable is built to IEC 62196, CE certified, with Type 2 to Type 2 rated IP55 and Type 2 to 3 Pin rated IP67. All come with a 2 year manufacturer's warranty and free next working day UK delivery. The Sorento 1.6 T-GDi PHEV takes a Type 2 to Type 2 cable, and the 16A version is the one to buy. Its onboard charger accepts 3.3 kW, so a 16A lead rated at 3.7 kW already has headroom over what the car will pull. Pick 5m or 10m to suit where you park. Is the 32A Sorento cable worth the extra? No. The car caps AC charging at 3.3 kW, so a 32A lead capable of 7.4 kW hands over exactly the same energy across the same 4 hours 45 minutes as the 16A does. The one sensible reason to spend the difference is a faster charging EV arriving in the household soon. How long does a Sorento PHEV take to charge? About 4 hours 45 minutes from empty on any Type 2 wallbox, because 13.8 kWh at the car's 3.3 kW ceiling always works out the same whichever Type 2 lead you use. A three pin plug at 2.3 kW stretches that to roughly 6 hours 45 minutes, which still fits inside an overnight stop. Does the self-charging Sorento hybrid plug in? No. The 1.6 T-GDi HEV keeps its small battery topped up from the engine and from braking, and it has no charging port anywhere on the body. The 2.2 CRDi diesel has no traction battery either. Neither can use a charging cable at all, so look for a charge flap before ordering. Was a plug-in Sorento sold before 2021? No. Kia introduced the plug-in hybrid Sorento with the fourth generation car in 2021, and nothing built between 2015 and 2020 was offered with a plug. A 2019 Sorento is diesel whatever the trim, so it cannot take a charging cable. Check the year and the badge together. Should I buy a 5m or 10m Sorento cable? Five metres works when the wallbox is on the wall your Sorento noses up to. Ten metres is the safer pick if the car parks nose out, sits on a shared bay, or the charge point lives inside the garage while the car stays on the drive. Both carry the same 3.3 kW.

Order the 32A Type 2 to Type 2 cable for a Vivaro-e. Every version of this van, whether it wears the Vivaro-e badge or the Vivaro Electric name it took in 2024, has a Type 2 socket and a 7.4 kW onboard charger as standard. On the single phase supply feeding a house or a small industrial unit, 7.4 kW is also the ceiling, and the 32A lead is the one that reaches it. A 16A cable will connect and charge, but at 3.7 kW it nearly doubles the time a van stands idle overnight. An 11 kW three phase charger sits on the options list, and it is worth finding out whether your van has one. It only repays the money where there is genuine three phase power, such as a depot or a commercial yard, and only when paired with the 32A three phase cable. Plug an 11 kW van in at a house and it still draws 7.4 kW. The 2024 rename changed the badging and the trim levels, not the charging hardware, so a 2021 van and a 2025 van take exactly the same lead.Battery size is what moves the timings. The 50 kWh van holds 46.3 kWh usable, the 75 kWh version holds 69 kWh, and the larger pack takes roughly half as long again to fill. Both carry a CCS socket alongside the Type 2 one, rated at 100 kW on the 50 kWh van. The Vivaro-e Life and Vivaro Life Electric people carriers use the same figures. Diesel Vivaros have no charging port and take no cable at all.Running a mixed fleet is simpler than it looks. The Vivaro-e is the same van as the Citroen e-Dispatch and the Peugeot e-Expert, so one cable specification covers all three badges and keeps your spares cupboard small. On length, 10m is the sensible fleet choice, because vans park where there is space rather than where the charger happens to be. 5m suits a dedicated bay. Every Vivaro-e has a Type 2 socket and a 7.4 kW onboard charger as standard, and 7.4 kW is also the most a single phase UK supply will give you. A 16A lead connects safely but drops the van to 3.7 kW, which doubles the overnight charge.Does my van have the 11 kW charger? It was an option rather than standard fitment, so check the build sheet or ask the supplying dealer. On a single phase supply it makes no difference at all, since the van still takes 7.4 kW at a house or a small unit. The 11 kW charger only earns its keep on three phase power. How long does a Vivaro-e take to charge? The 50 kWh van holds 46.3 kWh usable and fills in around 7 hours at 7.4 kW using a 32A cable. The 75 kWh version holds 69 kWh usable and takes roughly 10 hours 30 minutes. With the 11 kW charger on three phase power those drop to about 4 hours 45 minutes and 7 hours. Is Vivaro Electric different to Vivaro-e?Only in name and trim. Vauxhall renamed the van in 2024, keeping the 46.3 and 69 kWh usable batteries, the Type 2 socket and the 7.4 kW standard charger with 11 kW optional. A cable bought for a 2021 Vivaro-e fits a 2025 Vivaro Electric with nothing to change or adapt. Will it fit an e-Dispatch or e-Expert?Yes. The Citroen e-Dispatch and the Peugeot e-Expert are the same van as the Vivaro-e, built with the same Type 2 socket and the same battery choices. If you run a mixed fleet, one 32A Type 2 to Type 2 specification covers all three badges and keeps your spares cupboard simple. What length works best for a van?10m for most fleets. Vans park where there is room rather than where the charger sits, and a panel van is long enough that five metres runs short at a shared post. Choose 5m only where each vehicle has its own bay with the charging unit mounted directly beside it.

Buy the 32A Type 2 to Type 2 cable for the LDV EV80. The van holds 56 kWh and its onboard charger is around 7 kW, so a 32A lead lets it work at full pace and anything smaller simply stretches the night out. The EV80 was on sale here from roughly 2017 to 2020, and it was the last electric van to carry the LDV name. The brand became Maxus in the UK and Ireland in April 2020, and the eDeliver 9 took over the same slot in the range. If you are shopping for the newer van, the cable is the same Type 2 to Type 2 lead, but the battery choice runs from 51 kWh to 88.5 kWh and the AC rate varies by version, so check the handbook rather than assuming. On the EV80 itself the onboard charger is the limit that matters. Most sources put it at about 7 kW, a few say 6.6 kW, and the difference is a matter of minutes rather than hours. A 32A cable supplies 7.4 kW, comfortably more than the van will pull, so the van sets the pace. Our compatibility chart puts a full charge from a 7.4 kW wallbox at roughly seven hours. A 16A cable is the version to avoid on this van. It caps you at 3.7 kW, which is barely half what the EV80 can take, and on a 56 kWh battery that turns an overnight charge into something closer to a working day. It only makes sense if the charge point itself is limited to 16A and you have no choice. The 3 pin cable is worth owning as a backstop for a site with no charge point, but it is not a way to run a van. At 2.3 kW you are looking at well over a day from empty. Treat it as insurance. We also list a three phase 22 kW cable. It will fit the EV80 and it will not speed it up, because the van accepts about 7 kW no matter what is offered. A UK home supply is single phase in any case, which holds every EV to 7.4 kW on the drive. The van also has a CCS inlet for rapid charging at around 30 kW. That connection is DC, and the charge point provides its own attached lead. Diesel LDV V80 models have no charging port at all. LDV EV80 Charging Cable FAQs Which cable does the LDV EV80 need? A Type 2 to Type 2 cable in the 32A version. The EV80 carries a 56 kWh battery and an onboard charger of about 7 kW, so a 32A lead at 7.4 kW gives the van everything it can take. Our chart puts a full charge from a 7.4 kW wallbox at roughly seven hours. Is the 16A cable good enough? Not really. At 3.7 kW it delivers roughly half what the EV80 will accept, so 56 kWh takes about seventeen hours instead of around seven. Unless the charge point you use is itself limited to 16A, the small saving on the cable costs you an entire extra night of charging every time the van runs low. Does the 22 kW three phase cable help? No. The EV80 tops out near 7 kW on AC, so a 22 kW three phase cable hands it far more than it can use and finishes no sooner. British homes are single phase as well, which limits any vehicle to 7.4 kW on a driveway. The 32A single phase cable is the sensible buy. How long does a full charge take? Around seven hours on a 32A cable from a 7.4 kW wallbox, which is the figure on our compatibility chart for the 56 kWh pack. A 16A lead stretches that to about seventeen hours, and a 3 pin cable at 2.3 kW needs more than a full day, so plan around the 32A version. Will this cable fit a Maxus eDeliver 9? Yes, the connector is the same Type 2 to Type 2. The eDeliver 9 replaced the EV80 when LDV became Maxus in April 2020, and it comes with 51, 72 or 88.5 kWh depending on version. AC rates vary between them, so check your handbook, but the 32A cable remains the right choice. Does the diesel LDV V80 need a cable? No. The V80 is a diesel panel van with no battery and no charging port, so nothing here will plug into it. Only the EV80 and the later Maxus electric vans charge. If your van has a fuel filler and no charge flap on the bodywork, you do not need a cable at all.

The Smart EQ ForFour takes a Type 2 to Type 2 cable, and 32A is what to order. What surprises people is the charger sitting behind that socket: this is a small city car with a 22 kW three phase onboard charger, a specification usually found on far bigger machinery. Which version you have decides whether that matters. Cars built from 2017 to 2019 came with a 4.6 kW charger as standard, and the 22 kW unit was a paid option that UK cars usually announce as 22kW Charger in the trim name. From 2020 every EQ ForFour got the 22 kW charger as standard. Smart stopped building the car in December 2021. At home the difference disappears. A UK house is single phase, so the ceiling is 7.4 kW whatever charger is fitted. On a 32A cable a 22 kW car fills its 16.7 kWh usable battery from empty in about 2 hours 30 minutes. A standard charger car limits itself to 4.6 kW and takes around 4 hours. Either is a short evening rather than an overnight. The three phase cable pays for itself only if you use three phase public posts and your car has the 22 kW charger. There the battery goes from empty to full in roughly 45 minutes, which is genuinely quick given that no ForFour has any rapid charging at all. Here is the part that matters on a small battery. A 3 pin cable at 2.3 kW fills the ForFour from empty in about 8 hours 15 minutes. On most electric cars that would be a two day job and we would call it emergency use, but on 16.7 kWh it is a real overnight charge from an ordinary socket. If you have no wall box yet, or you park at a relative's house at weekends, the 3 pin lead is a sensible second cable rather than a last resort. Choose 5m if the car parks beside its charge point and 10m for shared bays, kerbside posts or a reversed in driveway. The petrol ForFour has no charging port. Our Type 2 to Type 2 cables are IP55 rated, our 3 pin cables are IP67, and both carry a 2 year manufacturer's warranty with free next working day UK delivery. A Type 2 to Type 2 cable at 32A. Every electric ForFour uses a Type 2 inlet and none of them has rapid charging, so this cable is the only way to fill the car. With the 22 kW charger fitted, a 32A cable at home takes the 16.7 kWh battery from empty to full in about 2 hours 30 minutes. Can I charge a Smart EQ ForFour from a 3 pin socket? Yes, and unusually for an electric car we would call it practical rather than a last resort. The 16.7 kWh battery fills from empty in around 8 hours 15 minutes on a 2.3 kW 3 pin lead, which is one night on an ordinary socket. Our 3 pin cables are IP67 rated and adjust between 6A and 12A. Does my ForFour have the 22kW charger? Look at the trim name first. UK cars sold between 2017 and 2019 with the option usually carry 22kW Charger in the name, and everything from 2020 onwards has it as standard. Cars without it charge at 4.6 kW. It only changes anything at a three phase post, since home supplies cap at 7.4 kW. How long does a Smart EQ ForFour take to charge? On a 32A cable at home, about 2 hours 30 minutes from empty for a 22 kW car and around 4 hours for a 4.6 kW one. A 16A cable takes roughly 5 hours. Plug into a three phase post with the 22kW cable and a 22 kW car is full in about 45 minutes. Is a three phase cable worth it on a ForFour? Only if you have the 22 kW charger and regularly use three phase posts. There the 16.7 kWh battery is full in around 45 minutes, against 2 hours 30 minutes on a single phase 32A cable. Since a UK home supply is single phase, the extra cost buys you nothing on your own driveway. Which cable suits the newer Smart #1 and #3? The same Type 2 to Type 2 cable. The Smart #1 and #3 hold 62 kWh usable and also carry a 22 kW charger, so 32A gives 7.4 kW and about 9 hours 30 minutes at home. On a three phase post the 22kW cable brings that down to roughly 3 hours 15 minutes.

The Mercedes E300de is the unusual one in this catalogue: a plug-in hybrid built around a diesel engine, sold mostly to people covering serious annual mileage. The W213 E300de of 2019 to 2023 charges at 7.4 kW on AC. The current W214 charges at 11 kW. The diesel is what makes the cable decision interesting, because owners of this car rarely need the battery for a long journey. They need it for the thirty mile leg at each end, which means what actually matters is whether the pack is full again by morning. Every E-Class plug-in hybrid takes a Type 2 to Type 2 Charging Cable, whether it is the E300de diesel or the E300e petrol, which use the same charging hardware. Mercedes puts the socket at the rear of the car rather than on a front wing, so check which side yours is on before measuring. Get the 32A single phase cable. Certification aside, the electrical point is simple: the 22 kW lead is designed for a three phase supply, almost no British house has one, and a single phase caps everything at 7.4 kW. On a W213 that is the car's own maximum anyway, so nothing is lost. On a W214 the 11 kW charger could go faster, but only at a workplace or commercial site with three genuine phases, where a full charge falls from 4 hours to 2 hours 30 minutes. The 16A cable doubles the time on a W213, from 2 hours to 4 hours. That sounds survivable until you remember this is a car charged every night rather than twice a week. Two extra hours a night, every night, to save thirteen pounds once. A 13 amp socket is a realistic overnight charge for a battery this small. Our Type 2 to 3-Pin Charging Cable fills a W213 pack in about 6 hours 45 minutes and a W214 in around 12 hours 30 minutes, which makes the domestic socket a genuine option for the older car when it is parked away from home. Six miles an hour is modest, but on a plug-in hybrid it is the difference between starting a journey on electricity and starting it on diesel. Our guide explains the household socket route in detail. For the smaller diesel and petrol plug-ins there is the Mercedes C-Class charging cable page, and for the SUV the Mercedes GLC 300e charging cable page. Everything Mercedes is listed in Mercedes EV charging cables, and our IP ratings guide covers the sealing figures below. Certification runs to CE against IEC 62196 Type 2. Weather protection is IP55 for the Type 2 to Type 2 cables and IP67 for the Type 2 to 3-Pin, and nothing here minds temperatures between -30C and +50C, or +60C for the 3-pin. Delivery is free next working day in the UK and the warranty is 2 years from the manufacturer. Cold mornings and fast dual carriageway miles will each pull this number down. Mercedes E300de Charging Cable FAQs What charging cable does a Mercedes E300de use? Order the 32A single phase Type 2 to Type 2 cable for a Mercedes E300de. Both the W213 and the W214 fill their batteries fastest on that lead when it is plugged into a home wallbox, and it is the same cable the petrol E300e uses. Does the newer E-Class plug-in charge faster? Per hour, yes. The W214 Mercedes E-Class plug-in has an 11 kW three phase charger against the W213's 7.4 kW single phase unit. At home the difference disappears, because a house supplies 7.4 kW to either car, and the W214 then takes longer overall because its battery is nearly twice the size. Do I need a 22kW cable for a Mercedes E300de? Not for a W213 Mercedes E300de, which cannot exceed 7.4 kW under any circumstances. On a W214 the 22 kW cable does unlock the full 11 kW, but only at a site with three real phases, and it makes no difference whatsoever on a domestic supply. How long does a Mercedes E300de take to charge? About 2 hours from empty for the W213 Mercedes E300de on a 32A cable at home, or 4 hours for the larger W214 battery. From an ordinary 13 amp household socket those become roughly 6 hours 45 minutes and 12 hours 30 minutes. What cable length works for a Mercedes E-Class? This is a 4.95 metre car with the charging socket at the back, so a 5m lead only stretches if the wallbox is close to the rear of the parking space and on the correct side. Where the unit is mounted by the front of a garage, or the car is reversed in, the 10m removes the problem entirely. Is it worth charging an E300de from a 3-pin socket? On a W213 Mercedes E300de, yes. The pack is small enough that a household 13 amp socket fills it in about 6 hours 45 minutes, so a night away from home still leaves you with a full electric range in the morning. The W214 battery takes 12 hours 30 minutes the same way, which is a top up rather than a full charge.

Polestar has changed almost everything about the Polestar 2 since 2020. The battery has been 64, 69, 78 and 82 kWh. The drive layout switched from front to rear in 2023. The trim names have moved around more than once. The one specification that has never changed is the onboard charger: 11 kW three phase on every UK Polestar 2, on every trim, in every model year. That is why the Polestar 2 charging cable question has one answer regardless of which car you own, and it is also why the 22 kW upgrade so many owners are offered was never relevant here. Every Polestar 2 charges through a Type 2 to Type 2 Charging Cable. The inlet sits on the offside rear quarter, behind the driver's door, in the same place a fuel filler would be on a petrol car. The lead to buy is the 32A single phase one. The 11 kW on the spec sheet is a three phase number, and wired to a normal British house the car takes 7.4 kW instead, which the 32A single phase cable supplies in full. Where the three phase cable does earn its money is a workplace or commercial site with a real three phase feed, where a 79 kWh Long Range drops from 12 hours to 8 hours. If you have no access to one, that cable is heavier, dearer and exactly as fast as the cheaper option. The 16A cable belongs on smaller cars than this. On a 75 kWh Long Range it stretches a charge from 11 hours 30 minutes to 23 hours, and recovery falls from about 33 miles an hour to 17. The saving is thirteen pounds. The cost is eleven and a half hours becoming twenty three. The 3-pin cable is emergency kit on a Polestar 2, not a charging plan. Our Type 2 to 3-Pin Charging Cable draws 2.3 kW from a 13 amp socket and returns about 10 miles an hour, so filling a Long Range pack would take a day and a half. What it does is turn any household socket into 80 miles overnight, which covers most journeys home from wherever you got caught out. See what a domestic socket actually achieves. The larger SUV has its own page, the Polestar 3 charging cable, and the closest Volvo relative is covered on the Volvo XC40 charging cable page. Both brands share the same leads, listed in Polestar EV charging cables, and our IP ratings guide explains the sealing numbers quoted below. Every lead is CE certified to IEC 62196 Type 2. Ratings are IP55 for Type 2 to Type 2 and IP67 for Type 2 to 3-Pin, the working range is -30C to +50C, or +60C for the 3-pin, and a 2 year manufacturer's warranty applies. Real world figures fall away in the cold and at speed. Polestar 2 Charging Cable FAQs What is the best charging cable for a Polestar 2? Every Polestar 2 sold in Britain wants the 32A single phase Type 2 to Type 2 Charging Cable. That has been true of every trim and every battery since launch, so the year of your car does not change the answer at all. Did any UK Polestar 2 come with a 22kW charger? No. Polestar has never offered a 22 kW onboard charger on a UK Polestar 2. Every car built for this market has the 11 kW three phase unit, so a 22 kW cable cannot make any Polestar 2 charge faster than 11 kW under any circumstances. Would a three phase cable help a Polestar 2? Only where a genuine three phase supply exists. At a workplace or industrial unit a Polestar 2 draws its full 11 kW and a 79 kWh Long Range comes down from 12 hours to 8 hours. On a domestic supply it delivers exactly the same 7.4 kW as the cheaper 32A single phase cable. How long does a Polestar 2 take to charge at home? About 12 hours from empty for a 79 kWh Long Range Polestar 2 on a 32A cable, 11 hours 30 minutes for the earlier 75 kWh car and 10 hours for the 66 kWh Standard Range. Very few owners start from empty, and a seven hour overnight window puts back around 250 miles on the Long Range. What length of charging cable does a Polestar 2 need? The socket is on the offside rear quarter and the car is 4.6 metres long, so 5m works when you reverse onto the drive with a wallbox mounted near the back of the space. Park nose in with the unit at the far end and the lead has to run the length of the car, which is 10m territory. Can I use my Polestar 2 cable at public charge points? Yes. Untethered Type 2 posts make up most of the UK public AC network and expect drivers to bring their own lead, so the same cable serves at home and away. Rapid DC charging uses the charger's own attached cable and needs nothing from you.

A Type 1 to 3 Pin charging cable plugs your car straight into an ordinary household socket, with no wallbox and no installation. It draws 2.3 kW, and on a Type 1 car that is a far more useful number than it sounds. Here is why. Every Type 1 car sold in Britain is an older one with a small battery, between about 12 and 33 kWh. A modern 80 kWh electric car would need three days on a household socket, which is why we describe the Type 2 granny cable as a backup. On a 24 kWh Nissan Leaf the same socket delivers a full charge in about 11 hours 45 minutes, and on an Outlander PHEV in about six. That is an overnight charge, not an emergency measure, and for a second car covering short local runs it can be the only charging you ever need. It is also the answer when there is no charge point: a relative's driveway, a holiday cottage, a workplace with a socket in the wall but nothing on it. Ours is sealed to IP67, so it can sit outside in the rain while it works, and the current is adjustable from 6A to 12A if the socket or the wiring is old. Check the inlet before you order. A Type 1 socket has five pins and a Type 2 has seven. The Nissan Leaf changed from Type 1 to Type 2 in 2018 and the Kia Soul in 2019, so the year matters as much as the badge. If yours is Type 2, you need the Type 2 to 3-Pin cable instead. If you want to use a wallbox or a public post rather than a socket, that is the Type 1 to Type 2 cable. Charging Times from a Household Socket At 2.3 kW, from empty, based on each car's nominal battery size Car Battery Full charge at 2.3 kW Verdict Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV 12 kWh 6 hours Comfortably overnight Mitsubishi i-MiEV, Peugeot iOn, Citroen C-Zero 16 kWh 7 hours 45 mins Comfortably overnight Nissan Leaf, 24 kWh 24 kWh 11 hours 45 mins Overnight, plugged in early Nissan Leaf, 30 kWh 30 kWh 14 hours 45 mins Overnight plus part of a day Ford Focus Electric 33.5 kWh 16 hours 30 mins Better on a wallbox Real times run a little shorter, because a car's usable capacity is always below its nominal figure. Type 1 to 3 Pin Charging Cable FAQs Can I charge a Type 1 car from a normal plug socket? Yes, that is exactly what this cable is for. A Type 1 to 3 Pin cable plugs into any standard UK socket and draws 2.3 kW, with no wallbox and no installation needed. On the small batteries Type 1 cars carry, that is a genuine overnight charge rather than a top-up. How long does it take to charge a Nissan Leaf from a 3 pin socket? About 11 hours 45 minutes from empty for a 24 kWh Nissan Leaf, and around 14 hours 45 minutes for the 30 kWh car. Most owners never charge from empty, so a normal overnight plug-in replaces a day's driving comfortably. Is it safe to leave this cable outside? The cable is sealed to IP67, so rain is not a problem while it is working. The socket it plugs into is the thing to think about: use an outdoor rated socket, do not run it through a part open window or door, and set the cable to 6A or 10A rather than 12A if the wiring is old. Does my car have a Type 1 socket? Count the pins. A Type 1 inlet has five, a Type 2 has seven with a flat top edge. Type 1 cars in Britain are all pre-2019 and include the Nissan Leaf up to 2017, the e-NV200, the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV and i-MiEV, the Peugeot iOn, the Citroen C-Zero, the Vauxhall Ampera and the Ford Focus Electric. Should I buy this or a Type 1 to Type 2 cable? This one plugs into a household socket. The Type 1 to Type 2 cable plugs into a wallbox or a public charge point and charges two to three times faster. If you have a wallbox, buy that one and keep this as the cable that gets you charged anywhere there is a plug.

Delivered in 3-11 working days  Can't find what you're looking for? Contact us for availability.

For nearly every Nissan Ariya owner the answer is the 32A Type 2 to Type 2 cable. Every UK Ariya, from the entry 63 kWh Engage to the NISMO, uses a Type 2 socket, so fit is never in question. What the 32A cable does is let the car pull the full 7.4 kW that a British home supply can deliver, and that is the fastest any Ariya will charge on a driveway. Trim badges are a red herring here. What matters is the battery and whether the first owner ticked one box. The 63 kWh cars come with a 7.4 kW onboard charger as standard, though Nissan sold a 22 kW upgrade for £895 on the Advance, Shiro and Evolve versions. Every 87 kWh car, including the e-4ORCE four wheel drive models and the NISMO, has that 22 kW charger fitted from the factory. The 22 kW figure needs putting in context, because it is easy to overpay for it. It is a three phase rating. Homes in Britain are wired single phase, which stops the supply at 7.4 kW no matter how capable the car is, so a 22 kW Ariya and a 7.4 kW Ariya charge at exactly the same speed on your own charge point. The 22 kW only appears on a three phase post, which in practice means a workplace or a commercial site. Battery size is what changes the clock. On a 32A cable, a 63 kWh Ariya takes about 9 hours 45 minutes from empty and an 87 kWh car about 13 hours 15 minutes. If you have the larger battery and access to three phase power at work, the 32A three phase cable is a genuine upgrade, cutting that to around 4 hours 30 minutes. It also drops back to 7.4 kW at home, so it is not a wasted purchase either way. The 16A cable is a poor match for this car. Holding an 87 kWh pack to 3.7 kW turns a full charge into more than a day. Treat the Type 2 to 3 Pin cable the same way: at 2.3 kW it is for holiday cottages, family visits and the odd emergency, never as your main lead. Our Type 2 to Type 2 cables are IP55 rated, our Type 2 to 3 Pin cables are IP67, and both come with a 2 year manufacturer's warranty and free next working day UK delivery. A Type 2 to Type 2 cable in 32A. Every UK Ariya has a Type 2 inlet and every one of them will accept 7.4 kW, which is the most a single phase home supply can give. The 32A cable carries exactly that, so it is the right choice on the 63 kWh car and the 87 kWh car alike. How long does an Ariya take to charge at home? From empty on a 32A cable, roughly 9 hours 45 minutes for the 63 kWh battery and roughly 13 hours 15 minutes for the 87 kWh battery. The larger car therefore needs more than one night from flat, although most owners plug in well before empty and only add what the day used. Does my Ariya have the 22 kW onboard charger? If it has the 87 kWh battery, yes, it is standard on every one including e-4ORCE and NISMO. On a 63 kWh car it was a £895 option, fitted only to Advance, Shiro and Evolve trims, so check the original order or ask a Nissan dealer with your registration before buying a three phase cable. Is a three phase cable worth buying for an Ariya? It depends entirely on where you charge. On three phase power an 87 kWh Ariya goes from empty in about 4 hours 30 minutes rather than 13 hours 15 minutes, which is a real difference at a workplace. At home it gives you nothing, because your supply cannot exceed 7.4 kW whatever cable is attached. Will a 16A cable be enough for an 87 kWh Ariya? We would not recommend it. A 16A cable limits the car to 3.7 kW, which stretches a full charge on the 87 kWh battery to about 26 hours 30 minutes. Even on the 63 kWh car it means roughly 19 hours 15 minutes. Only choose 16A if the socket you use genuinely cannot supply more. Do I need a 5m, 10m or longer Ariya cable? Five metres is enough where the charge point faces the Ariya's socket directly. Ten metres covers awkward parking, kerbside units and shared bays. We also list 15m and 20m in 32A for long driveways, detached garages and farm buildings. Length has no effect on the 7.4 kW the car receives.

Buy the 32A Type 2 to Type 2 cable for a Vauxhall Mokka-e. Every electric Mokka listed below carries a Type 2 inlet, and every one of them draws 7.4 kW once it is plugged in at a British home. The 32A cable is the only one we stock that lets the car reach that figure, so it is the default whether your car is a 2021 example or a 2025 one. The Mokka-e is the odd one out in the Vauxhall range, in a good way. Where the Corsa-e of the same period treated the 11 kW three phase charger as an upgrade, the Mokka-e was given it as standard from launch. On the 54 kWh Long Range that arrived in early 2024, Vauxhall inverted the usual arrangement again and offered a 7 kW charger as the cheaper alternative. All of that only shows up on three phase power. British houses are single phase, which caps the supply at 7.4 kW whatever the car can accept, so on your driveway only battery size separates them. That battery split is what moves the numbers. The 2021 to 2023 car holds 46.3 kWh usable out of a 50 kWh pack. The Long Range and the 2025 facelift hold 50.8 kWh usable out of 54 kWh. On a 32A cable that works out at a little over seven hours for the earlier car and a little under eight for the later one, so either way it is a single overnight charge. Choose the 16A cable only if you are plugging into a 16A commando socket or an older post, because it holds the car at 3.7 kW and roughly doubles those times. The Type 2 to 3 Pin cable is a different tool again: 2.3 kW from a domestic socket, adjustable from 6A to 12A, and best kept as a backup for a relative's house or a holiday cottage. Filling a Mokka-e from a wall plug takes most of a day. The 32A three phase cable earns its price only if you regularly use three phase posts at work or in a commercial car park, where the Mokka-e will take its full 11 kW. It is backwards compatible and still runs at 7.4 kW on your home unit. Our Type 2 to Type 2 cables are IP55 rated, our Type 2 to 3 Pin cables are IP67, and both come with a 2 year manufacturer's warranty and free next working day UK delivery. A Type 2 to Type 2 cable in 32A. The Mokka-e and Mokka Electric both use a Type 2 inlet, and both pull 7.4 kW from a single phase home supply, which is exactly what the 32A cable delivers. The 16A version would hold the car back to 3.7 kW for no useful saving in day to day use. How long does a Mokka-e take to charge at home? About 7 hours for the 2021 to 2023 car, which has 46.3 kWh usable, and about 7 hours 45 minutes for the 54 kWh Long Range and 2025 facelift with 50.8 kWh usable. Both figures assume an empty battery and a 32A cable on a 7.4 kW home charge point, so either is a normal overnight fill. Is the 32A three phase cable worth it for a Mokka-e? Only if you regularly charge somewhere with three phase power. The Mokka-e has the 11 kW three phase charger as standard, so on such a post it drops to roughly 4 hours 45 minutes for the 50 kWh car. At home it makes no difference at all, because a British single phase supply stops at 7.4 kW. Mokka-e or Mokka Electric, are they different cars? They are the same car under two names. Vauxhall dropped the hyphen in 2024 when the 54 kWh Long Range arrived, so Mokka-e became Mokka Electric. Both take the same 32A Type 2 to Type 2 cable. Petrol, diesel and 48V hybrid Mokkas are separate models with no charging port at all. Can I charge a Mokka-e from a three pin socket? Yes, with our Type 2 to 3 Pin cable, which is adjustable from 6A to 12A and tops out at 2.3 kW. That means roughly 22 hours 45 minutes for the 50 kWh car and 25 hours for the 54 kWh one, so treat it as a backup for holiday lets and family visits rather than your everyday cable. Should I buy the 5m or the 10m Mokka-e cable? The 5m suits a wall unit on the same side of the driveway as the car's charge port. Pick 10m if you park nose in on one side and the unit is on the other, or if you also use public posts where the bay layout is unpredictable. Both carry the same 7.4 kW at 32A.

  • Type 1 Tethered Cables

    Type 1 Tethered Cables

Delivered in 3-11 working days  Can't find what you're looking for? Contact us for availability.

These are Type 1 tethered charging cables, supplied for permanent attachment to a home charging station. They are meant for fitting by a professional charge point installer, not for plugging in and out yourself. The word tethered is what separates this from an ordinary charging lead. A tethered cable lives on the wallbox. It is wired into the unit at one end and finishes in a Type 1 connector at the other, so the only thing you ever handle is the plug that goes into the car. Nothing is coiled away afterwards, nothing sits in the boot, and on a dark winter evening in the garage that difference is felt every single night. Type 1 is the connector fitted to a generation of electric cars and plug in hybrids sold before Type 2 became the UK standard. It is a five pin single phase design. That single phase construction sets a hard physical ceiling of 7.4 kW, so no Type 1 cable, tethered or portable, can carry three phase power. If your car has a Type 1 inlet this is the cable you need. If it has a Type 2 inlet, our Type 2 tethered cables are the correct choice. Both lengths are rated at 32A. Choose 5m where the charging station is mounted close to where you park, and 10m where the unit sits further off, the drive is long, or the inlet on the car faces away from the wall. Worth measuring properly before ordering, because a tethered cable cannot be swapped for a longer one without another visit from an electrician. Between charges the cable needs somewhere to sit. Leaving it coiled on a garage floor puts the connector in whatever water and grit gathers there, so a wall bracket beside the unit is a sensible companion purchase. Hung up, the lead drains, dries and stays clear of feet and tyres. There is a 2 year manufacturer's warranty and UK delivery is free on the next working day. Type 1 Tethered Charging Cable FAQs What is a tethered Type 1 cable? It is a charging cable permanently attached to a home charging station rather than carried loose. The unit keeps the cable, you keep the plug end ready to go into the car. That removes the nightly routine of unwinding a lead, plugging in twice and coiling it back up afterwards. Can I fit one myself? No. These cables are supplied for professional EV charging station installers. Fitting means terminating the cable inside the charge point, which is electrical work on a wired in appliance. Contact the company that installed your unit, or another qualified installer, and have them do it properly. Which end connects to the car? The Type 1 connector is the car end. The opposite end has no plug at all, because it is wired directly into the charging station during fitting. That is why a tethered cable arrives with only one connector on it, and why it cannot be used as a portable lead between two sockets. Do I still need a portable cable as well? Almost certainly, yes. Public charging posts have sockets rather than fixed leads, so away from home you plug in your own cable. The tethered unit handles your overnight charging at the house. A portable Type 1 lead in the boot covers workplaces, car parks and destination chargers. Is there a three phase or 22 kW Type 1 cable? No, and there never will be. Type 1 is a five pin single phase connector, so 7.4 kW is its physical limit by design. Any listing offering a three phase Type 1 cable is describing something that does not exist. A car with a Type 1 inlet cannot draw three phase AC power. How do I pick between 5m and 10m? Work out where the car's inlet sits when parked as you normally leave it, then measure to the wall unit and add slack. Five metres is fine for a station beside the bay. Ten metres suits a longer drive or an inlet on the far side of the car. Getting it changed later means paying an electrician again.
