Building a Thread or Zigbee device rather than another Wi-Fi-only project? The Seeed Studio XIAO ESP32-C6 adds an IEEE 802.15.4 radio alongside 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth LE. Its compact XIAO format suits connected sensors and smart-home prototypes where board space is already spoken for.
These are programmable development boards, not ready-configured smart-home appliances. Check your chosen firmware and peripherals before buying.
Matter projects need suitable firmware and the appropriate network infrastructure. This board is not a preconfigured Matter sensor or a ready-to-use hub. Grove modules require an appropriate shield or wiring arrangement; they do not plug straight into the bare board.
Seeed's XIAO ESP32-C6 guide covers the Arduino board package, pin map, battery wiring and antenna selection. Use a USB-C data cable for programming. Header mounting requires soldering; this is the unsoldered board version.
