    Description

Order the Type 2 to Type 2 32A single phase cable, in 5m or 10m. Every Scenic E-Tech sold here uses a Type 2 inlet, with CCS alongside it for rapid charging, so there is no connector question to answer. The only real decision is the battery you have. Comfort Range 170hp cars carry 60 kWh usable. Long Range 220hp cars carry 87 kWh usable from a 92 kWh nominal pack, and that extra 27 kWh is what changes your overnight planning.

The onboard charger figure needs honesty rather than a confident number. Renault UK's brochure and its powertrain page both state 11 kW as standard with no 22 kW option offered. EV Database lists 22 kW. Renault's own charging table then quotes a 22 kW public charging time that sits cleanly with neither source. We recommend buying on the 11 kW figure, and we would rather show you the disagreement than pretend it is settled.

Here is why it barely matters at home. British houses get a single phase supply, which caps every wallbox at 7.4 kW no matter what the car will accept. Fit the 32A single phase cable and a Comfort Range fills from empty in roughly nine hours fifteen minutes. A Long Range takes about thirteen hours fifteen minutes. A three phase cable plugged into a single phase wallbox delivers exactly the same 7.4 kW, so it buys you nothing on a driveway.

The three phase cable earns its price only if you regularly park at a three phase post, typically a workplace or a destination charger. On 11 kW that trims the Comfort Range to about six hours fifteen minutes and the Long Range to about nine hours. If the 22 kW listing turns out to be right for your car, those drop again, but we cannot confirm 22 kW on UK cars and we would not ask you to pay for it on that basis alone.

One thing worth clearing up: the petrol and diesel Scenic and Grand Scenic MPVs built between 1996 and 2022 have no charging port and need nothing from this page. Our Type 2 cables are IP55 rated and the 3 pin units IP67, both backed by a 2 year manufacturer's warranty and free next working day UK delivery.

    Renault Scenic Charging Cable FAQs

Which cable does the Renault Scenic E-Tech need?

A Type 2 to Type 2 cable at 32A. Every UK Scenic E-Tech has a Type 2 inlet, so the 32A single phase version delivers the full 7.4 kW a home wallbox can supply. That fills the 60 kWh Comfort Range in about nine hours fifteen minutes and the 87 kWh Long Range in roughly thirteen hours fifteen.

Is the Scenic 11 kW or 22 kW on AC?

Renault UK states 11 kW as standard with no 22 kW option. EV Database lists 22 kW, and Renault's charging table quotes a 22 kW time that matches neither source cleanly. We could not confirm 22 kW on UK cars, so we price and advise on 11 kW. At home the answer is 7.4 kW regardless.

How long does a Scenic E-Tech take to charge?

On a 7.4 kW home supply, a 60 kWh Comfort Range goes empty to full in around nine hours fifteen minutes, and an 87 kWh Long Range in around thirteen hours fifteen. Drop to a 16A cable at 3.7 kW and those stretch to eighteen hours fifteen and twenty six hours thirty respectively.

Is a three phase cable worth buying?

Only if you genuinely use three phase posts. On a home wallbox it delivers the same 7.4 kW as the cheaper single phase cable, because UK houses are single phase. At an 11 kW three phase post it saves about three hours on a Comfort Range and about four hours fifteen on a Long Range.

Did the old Renault Scenic MPV plug in?

No. The Scenic and Grand Scenic MPVs built between 1996 and 2022 were petrol and diesel only, with no charging port of any kind. The E-Tech that arrived in 2024 is a completely different vehicle that happens to share the name. If your car has no inlet flap, nothing on this page applies.

    Should I buy a 5m or a 10m cable?

Measure from the wallbox to where the inlet sits when the car is parked as it usually is, then add slack for the door being open. 5m suits a wallbox beside the bay. Choose 10m if you park nose in one night and reversed the next, or share a post with a second car.
