The ID.5 is the easiest car in the ID. family to buy a cable for. Volkswagen never sold a smaller battery version in Britain, so every UK car has the same 77 kWh usable pack, the same Type 2 inlet and the same 11 kW onboard charger. Pro, Pro Performance and GTX 4MOTION charge identically. Trim changes nothing at all.
Buy the 32A Type 2 to Type 2 cable. It delivers 7.4 kW, the maximum a single phase British home can supply, and takes the 77 kWh battery from empty to full in about 11 hours 45 minutes. That is a long session because the battery is large, which is why most owners top up little and often rather than run it flat.
The 11 kW figure on the specification sheet is a three phase rating. Reaching it needs a three phase supply and our 32A three phase cable, and even then the limit is the car's 11 kW rather than the cable's 22 kW. That combination brings a full charge down to roughly 8 hours. On a normal home supply the three phase cable is no quicker than the single phase one, so there is nothing to gain by paying more.
The 16A cable is held to 3.7 kW and needs about 23 hours 30 minutes for a full charge, which is a poor match for a pack this size. A Type 2 to 3 pin cable is slower again, at 2.3 kW and around 37 hours 45 minutes. Keep one in the boot for emergencies, but do not plan to run a 77 kWh car from a household socket.
Length deserves thought on a car this large. A 5m cable can be tight unless the wallbox is mounted right beside where the car stops. 10m removes the guesswork and covers visitors' driveways and public posts as well.

10m is the safer choice on a car this size, because parking position rarely stays the same and the extra reach costs nothing in charging speed. 5m is fine where the wallbox is fixed right beside the bay. Both use identical 32A conductors and both carry the full 7.4 kW.
