Citroën ë-Dispatch Charging Cable
The Citroen e-Dispatch takes a 32A Type 2 to Type 2 cable. Every version has a Type 2 inlet and a 7.4 kW onboard charger as standard, and 7.4 kW is the ceiling of a single phase UK supply, so one cable covers the whole range. What changes is the battery. The 50 kWh van holds 46.3 kWh usable and Citroen quotes about 7 hours 30 minutes for a full charge at 7.4 kW. The 75 kWh van holds 68 kWh usable and wants about 11 hours 20 minutes from the same supply. Same cable, same connector, nearly four hours between them, so establish which van you have before building an overnight schedule. An 11 kW three phase charger was a paid option. Where a depot or yard has three phase power, our 32A three phase cable brings those figures down to roughly 4 hours 45 minutes for the 50 kWh and about 7 hours for the 75 kWh. On a single phase supply the option changes nothing, and neither does the three phase cable. Both batteries also support CCS rapid charging at up to 100 kW. That is a DC connection built into the van and uses the charge point's own tethered lead. The cable on this page is for AC charging at home, at work and at public posts. The 16A cable is capped at 3.7 kW: about 14 hours 15 minutes for the 50 kWh van and around 20 hours 45 minutes for the 75 kWh. Carry one as a backup for an unplanned night away from your charger. It is IP67 rated. What cable length works best for a van? 10m suits most operators. 15m EV Charging Cables
The 15m sits between our 10m and 20m cables, and it is the length most people reach for when a 10m almost works but not quite. Awkward driveways, a charge point behind the car rather than beside it, or public bays where you cannot choose which way you park. We offer the 15m in two forms, and they do different jobs: Type 2 to Type 2, 32A: up to 7.4 kW, for home wallboxes and public charge points. This is the one most drivers want. Type 2 to 3 Pin, 6 to 12A adjustable: up to 2.3 kW from an ordinary UK 13A socket, with no wallbox needed. Slower, but it plugs in anywhere. More on charging from a domestic socket. Does 15m charge more slowly than 5m? No. Voltage drop over a correctly rated 15m cable is negligible, and your charge rate is set by the car's onboard charger and the charge point, not by cable length. A 15m 32A cable is heavier to coil than a 5m, so it is worth being honest about whether you need the reach before paying for it. Drivers whose charge point and charging port refuse to line up. Long or angled driveways, a wallbox fitted round the side of the house, a shared parking court, or a car that has to reverse in. If a 10m reaches with room to spare, save the money and the bulk and stay at 10m. Do I lose any power over 15 metres? Nothing you would notice. The conductors are sized for 32 amps, so voltage drop across 15m is tiny and the cable still delivers its full 7.4 kW. Speed is decided by the lowest limit in the chain instead: your vehicle's onboard charger, the supply feeding the charge point, and the cable's own amp rating. How do I check 15m is enough before ordering? Park exactly as you normally would, then run a tape measure from the charge point socket along the floor and round the bodywork to the car's charging port. Never measure the straight line across the bonnet. Add a metre or two of slack so the cable hangs in a gentle loop rather than pulling tight on the connector. Why is there no 16A or three phase version in 15m? Demand at this length is almost entirely for the 32A single phase cable, so that is what we stock. UK homes are single phase and cap out at 7.4 kW anyway, which is exactly what the 32A version delivers. If you specifically need 22 kW three phase, our 10m is offered in that specification. Can I leave 15m of cable on a wet driveway? Yes while charging. The Type 2 to Type 2 version is IP55 rated and the Type 2 to 3 Pin version is IP67 rated, so rain and grit are not an issue. Do not drive over the run or trap it under a wheel, since crushing damages the conductors, and coil it away dry when you finish. Should I take the 20m instead? Only if 15m genuinely will not stretch. 20m is our longest cable and it is noticeably heavier and bulkier to coil and store, with no gain in charging speed. That combination brings a full charge down to roughly 8 hours. On a normal home supply the three phase cable is no quicker than the single phase one, so there is nothing to gain by paying more. A Type 2 to 3 pin cable is slower again, at 2.3 kW and around 37 hours 45 minutes. Keep one in the boot for emergencies, but do not plan to run a 77 kWh car from a household socket. Every Model X uses a Type 2 inlet for AC charging, from the first 2016 cars through to the 2021 refresh and the Plaid, so nothing about your driveway setup changes with model year. The differences that follow all concern rapid charging and three phase posts, not the cable you plug in at home. The important dividing line is May 2019. Cars built up to April 2019 use Type 2 for AC charging and for Supercharging alike, with no CCS port at all. From May 2019 the Raven cars kept Type 2 for AC and added CCS for rapid charging. An early car needs Tesla's paid CCS retrofit before it can use a modern V3 Supercharger, which is worth knowing if you are buying used, but it makes no difference to a home wallbox. Onboard charger ratings moved around too. The earliest 2016 cars take 11 kW, or 22 kW if they were specified with the optional twin chargers. Later pre-facelift cars and the Raven take 16.5 kW on a three phase supply. The 2021 refresh and Plaid take 11 kW. Every one of those numbers collapses to 7.4 kW on a British home supply, because UK houses are single phase and 7.4 kW is the physical ceiling. Kia Sportage Charging Cable
Only one Kia Sportage plugs in: the 1.6 T-GDi PHEV, sold from 2022 onwards. If that is your car, order the Type 2 to Type 2 cable in 32A single phase. It is the quickest lead the Sportage can use. Check the badge on the boot before ordering anything. Kia sells the Sportage as petrol, as a 48V mild hybrid marked MHEV, as a self-charging hybrid marked HEV, and as a plug-in hybrid marked PHEV. Only the PHEV has a charging port. A T-GDi, CRDi, HEV or MHEV Sportage has nowhere to plug a cable in at all. No plug-in Sportage was offered before 2022 either, so a 2016 to 2021 car does not take a cable whatever its badge says. Trim level changes nothing about charging. With the PHEV the numbers are refreshingly simple. The battery is 13.8 kWh and the onboard charger stops at 7.2 kW. Our 32A lead carries 7.4 kW, a fraction more than the car will accept, so the Sportage sets the pace and fills from empty in roughly 2h15m on a home wallbox. That same small battery is why the three phase cable makes no sense on this car. 22 kW is a three phase rating, the Sportage charger is single phase, and a British house is single phase anyway. The Seat Mii electric wants a 32A Type 2 to Type 2 cable. Its onboard charger accepts 7.2 kW, and a 16A cable can only hand it 3.7 kW, so the cheaper lead would leave half the car's ability unused every night. There is only one electric Mii and it ran from 2020 to 2021, so there is no generation puzzle to solve here. The pack is 36.8 kWh gross with 32.3 kWh usable, and on a 32A cable a full charge takes about five hours. Seat quoted roughly four hours to 80 per cent, which is the figure most owners actually plan around, since few people run a battery flat before plugging in. What does confuse buyers is that this car was built three times over. The Volkswagen e-up! and the Skoda Citigo-e iV came off the same line with the same 32.3 kWh usable battery and the same 7.2 kW charger. If you own any of the three, this cable is the one you need. One detail differs between them, though it has no bearing on your purchase: CCS rapid charging was standard on the Mii electric and the e-up!, but not fitted to every Citigo-e iV, so some Skodas have none at all. Buy the 16A Type 2 to Type 2 cable. That is the whole answer for a LiveWire, and it is deliberately the cheapest recommendation on this site. The bike carries a 1.4 kW onboard charger, and that figure is a hard ceiling set by the machine itself. Nothing you plug it into can push past it, so a 16A cable already supplies more than the LiveWire will ever draw. UK and European bikes use a Type 2 socket, built into a CCS Combo 2 inlet. American LiveWires were fitted with Type 1, so if you are reading advice written for the States, ignore it. A standard Type 2 to Type 2 cable is the correct fit here, whether you bought a Harley-Davidson badged bike from 2019 to 2021 or a LiveWire ONE from March 2023, when LiveWire became a brand of its own. Mechanically and electrically the two are the same machine. With 13.6 kWh usable and 1.4 kW going in, a full charge takes around 12 hours 30 minutes. That number does not move. Plug into a 3.7 kW unit, a 7.4 kW home charger or a 22 kW three phase post and you will still be waiting about twelve and a half hours, because the restriction is on the bike. Buying the 32A or three phase version of this cable would cost you more and save you nothing. For a genuinely quick top up you would use the CCS side of the inlet at a rapid charger, which takes the battery from 0 to 80 per cent in about 40 minutes and needs no cable of your own. Length matters differently for a bike. Most LiveWires live in a garage, a shed or a bike store rather than on an open driveway, so measure from the socket to where the front wheel actually ends up, then add slack for wheeling the bike in and out without dragging the lead. An Audi Q3 plug-in hybrid takes a Type 2 to Type 2 cable. Two very different cars wear the badge, and they do not want the same cable, so check which one is on your driveway before you order. The Q3 45 TFSI e of 2021 to 2024, in SUV and Sportback form, has a 13 kWh battery and a 3.6 kW onboard charger. Audi quotes three hours 45 minutes from empty. That is the slowest charger Audi has fitted to a plug-in hybrid, and it means the 16A cable gives the car everything it can take. A 32A cable charges it no faster and costs more. The Q3 e-hybrid launched in 2025 is a different proposition. Its battery nearly doubled to 19.7 kWh usable, worth up to 73 miles, and the charger went up to 11 kW. A British house is single phase and tops out at 7.4 kW, so the 32A single phase cable is the home buy and fills it in about three hours. The three phase cable is what unlocks the full 11 kW at a three phase post, and takes that three hours down to two. Telling them apart is easy once you know. Audi badged the old car 45 TFSI e and the new one e-hybrid, and the newer car quotes an electric range in the seventies rather than the low thirties. A petrol TFSI, a diesel TDI or an RS Q3 has no charging port at all. On length, 5m is enough when you park nose in beside the charge point and 10m covers everything else, including public bays where the post can end up on the far side of the car. Hyundai Ioniq EV Charging Cables
Start with which Ioniq you have, because one of the three does not plug in at all. The Hyundai Ioniq Electric charges at up to 7.2 kW on AC and the Plug-in Hybrid at 3.3 kW. The Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid has no charging socket and cannot use a cable of any kind. Among the electric cars there is a second split worth knowing: when Hyundai facelifted the Ioniq Electric in 2020 it raised the battery from 28 kWh to 38.3 kWh and the onboard charger from 6.6 kW to 7.2 kW at the same time, so the newer car both holds more and drinks faster. Both plug-in versions use a Type 2 to Type 2 Charging Cable. Hyundai fitted the Type 2 inlet from the start of UK sales in 2016, so there is no Type 1 Ioniq to worry about and no year where the connector changed. The right buy is the 32A single phase cable. A British home supply carries a single phase and can push 7.4 kW through it, slightly more than the Ioniq will accept, so the car is the limit rather than the wiring. The 22 kW three phase lead has no role at all on this model, since the Ioniq never asked for three phase in the first place and cannot use two of the three conductors. On the 38.3 kWh Ioniq Electric the 16A cable is the expensive choice in disguise. Six hours becomes eleven hours forty five, and the cheap rate window is only seven hours long, so the cable decides whether the car fills on the low tariff or spills over into the day rate. Most Ioniq owners end up wanting a domestic socket lead as well. Renault Megane Charging Cable
Most Megane E-Tech owners need a Type 2 to Type 2 cable at 32A, in 5m or 10m. That is the cable that delivers the full 7.4 kW a UK home supply can give, and it is the right buy whichever Megane you have. The reason to read further is the onboard charger. Early UK cars sold in Optimum Charge specification, shown as OC in the version name, carry a 22 kW three phase charger. Cars from around 2025 are 11 kW, and Renault UK's own technical specification no longer lists a 22 kW option. There was also a standard charger EV60 at 7.4 kW. Renault's marketing pages still quote up to 22 kW while their charging tables cap at 11, so check your own paperwork or the version name rather than trusting a brochure. At home none of this matters. UK houses are single phase, so 7.4 kW is the ceiling for every Megane regardless of what the charger inside it can do. A 60 kWh EV60 goes from empty to full in about 9 hours 15 minutes on a 32A cable, which is one overnight. The three phase cable only earns its money if you have an Optimum Charge car and you regularly park at a three phase post. There the 22 kW charger does its job and the same 60 kWh fills in roughly 3 hours. On a 2025 car the same cable and post give you 11 kW, so around 6 hours 15 minutes. On a standard charger car it gives you nothing at all over the single phase cable. Length is a five minute decision. 5m suits a driveway where the charge point and the car end up close together. 10m covers a car parked nose in, a charge point on the far wall of a garage, or a shared bay. Buy the longer one if you are unsure, because a cable that will not reach is useless. One warning. From a 32A cable on a home charge point, about 9 hours 15 minutes for the 60 kWh battery. A 16A cable stretches that to roughly 18 hours 15 minutes. A 3 pin lead needs about 29 hours 30 minutes, which is why we suggest it only as a backup rather than as your everyday charging method. Does the hybrid Megane need a charging cable? No. The Megane E-Tech full hybrid charges its own small battery from the engine and has no charging socket, and the same goes for every petrol and diesel Megane. Only the Megane E-Tech Electric, the EV60, plugs in. If your car has no flap for a charging cable, nothing on this page will fit it. Should I buy the 5m or the 10m Megane cable? Buy 5m if your charge point is on the wall next to where the Megane parks. Peugeot e-208 Charging Cable
Peugeot did something quietly clever with the e-208. The battery grew by barely one kilowatt hour, from 50 kWh to 51 kWh, and the official range grew by forty two miles. The onboard charger stayed at 7.4 kW single phase as standard throughout, which means the same Peugeot e-208 charging cable now returns considerably more miles for every hour it is plugged in. On the newer car a 32A lead puts back about 41 miles an hour against 36 on the original, from an almost identical amount of electricity. All of them use a Type 2 to Type 2 Charging Cable. The flap sits on the nearside rear quarter, where a fuel filler would be on the petrol 208, so the lead comes in at the back of the car on the passenger side. Buy the 32A single phase cable. Even on a car fitted with Peugeot's optional 11 kW charger, a domestic supply gives one phase and 7.4 kW, so that is what the car receives at home either way. The 22 kW three phase lead is only worth owning if you have an 11 kW e-208 and regular access to a genuine three phase supply, where the 51 kWh battery comes down to about 5 hours. The 16A cable is a poor trade on this car. It takes the 51 kWh e-208 from 7 hours 15 minutes to 14 hours 45 minutes and drops recovery from 41 miles an hour to 21. Half a charge a night is what the cheaper lead actually costs you. Worth adding to the order: the 3-pin lead for the nights you are not at home. Audi A7 TFSI e EV Charging Cable
Only an A7 wearing a TFSI e badge plugs in. A petrol TFSI, a TDI diesel, an S7 or an RS 7 has no charging port, and no cable will help. In the UK the plug-in A7 was sold as a Sportback only. For the TFSI e, buy the 32A Type 2 to Type 2 cable. The car accepts 7.4 kW on AC and a 32A single phase cable delivers precisely that. Because the battery is small by electric car standards, a full charge is quick: about 2 hours 45 minutes on the later 17.9 kWh pack. There are two battery sizes. Cars built in 2020 carry 14.1 kWh and fill in roughly 2 hours 15 minutes at 7.4 kW. From 2021 Audi fitted 17.9 kWh, which adds about half an hour. The 50 TFSI e and the 55 TFSI e share the same batteries and the same charging, so the badge on the boot does not change the cable you need, and neither does trim. Do not spend extra on the three phase cable. The A7 TFSI e stops at 7.4 kW on AC whatever it is plugged into, so a three phase supply gives it nothing.
